This is a great little flash to carry in a pocket or just leave on the camera for outdoor fill or when needed indoors. It provides perfect E-TTL exposure on my Canon DSLRs within its range. The head tilts for bounce flash. It is more powerful than built in flash and high enough above the lens to reduce or eliminate redeye. You can't beat it for the price.

I was initially concerned that it does not work mounted on the Canon EOS 7D. I'm happy to say that it does! Even though it's advertised as compatible with E-TTL/E-TTL II exposure metering and the TTL light on the flash is on, it works only as a manual flash connected to my camera.
I've used it already for recent photo opportunities. Since the flash power is on the lower scale, it does great for outdoor flash fill and bounce flash for inside and low light conditions.
Overall - a good all around compact flash.

Comments about Vivitar DF22 Digital TTL Shoe Mount Flash for Canon E-TTL II:
Provide good ETTL exposure with the G11. Only negative is the plastic hot shoe and lock which is functional but I expect will not be too reliable.
However at less than 1/4 the Canon price with all the functionality, I can get several. First unit died within the first hour of use, but BH quickly replaced it.

Comments about Vivitar DF22 Digital TTL Shoe Mount Flash for Canon E-TTL II:
I have used the flash in conjunction with a Canon G12. The unit works well, but I have underexpose the image by two stops to get a properly exposed image. However, that is at close range(less than 15 feet). The unit works well, and simple to use and almost fool proof. Please note if I angle the head to 45 degrees, I can photograph with normal exposure values.

Comments about Vivitar DF22 Digital TTL Shoe Mount Flash for Canon E-TTL II:
I bought it for its small size and the fact that it need only two AA batteries so I can use it mainly on the Canon G9. I also have the Canon XTi and this flash will not work on either one of those cameras. ETLL does not worked and I can't manually control this flash. It shoots at full power every time. It has sat unused in my drawer since I bought it. Not worth your money.

Comments about Vivitar DF22 Digital TTL Shoe Mount Flash for Canon E-TTL II:
I purchased this for my Canon T2i and G10. It is not compatible with T2i even when the E-TTL light comes on. It generally overexpose for about 4 stops. You will have to manually compensate for that. I called Vivitar customer service few times but was on hold for extended time and then disconnected. It works well with G10.

Comments about Vivitar DF22 Digital TTL Shoe Mount Flash for Canon E-TTL II:
I purchased this flash looking for a little better light dispersion and output than provided by the onboard flash in my Canon SX20IS (which was already pretty good). Having happily used Vivitar flashes over the years and not wanting to spend more on the flash than the camera, I decided to give it try. The flash itself is very compact and recharged quickly. It's build is upper middle quality and better than I expected. Initially there was some mis-setting on my SX20 that was under exposing about 3 stops but the flash worked perfectly on my older G2. Although I never identified the setting on the SX20, a return to factory default fixed the issue. The flash itself really does not add much value beyond the SX20's onboard flash. It seems to reach out 10-13' further but the bounce is extremely limited due to it's low GN. In fact it is so limited it should not even factor into the purchase. Still, at [$] and with an off the camera attachment cord, you can pick up $80 worth of versatility which may be all many people are looking for. Depending on one's expectations this flash can be a bagain or a disappointment. It's small size, especially mounted on a Powershot model is a big plus.

Comments about Vivitar DF22 Digital TTL Shoe Mount Flash for Canon E-TTL II:
This is a pretty decent flash for the price and so far I am happy with it. It goes on and off the mount quickly and smoothly. The only complaint I had was with the description on the B&H website…it did not mention that the flash rotates upward from 45 to 0 degrees. This was a very nice surprise but since I didn't see that little tidbit I bought a separate universal diffuser as well (I wouldn't have bought it if I would have known about the tilting) I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Comments about Vivitar DF22 Digital TTL Shoe Mount Flash for Canon E-TTL II:
Works well on Digital Rebel XSi but does not work on 50D, 5D Mk II, or 1D Mk IIn. Canon 270 EX is more compact, recycles much faster and is fully compatible with all of the above SLRs. It is more expensive, however.
