Manfrotto 014-14 Rapid Adapter - 5/8" Stud to 1/4-20" Thread
The Manfrotto 014-14 Rapid Adapter is a locking adapter that fits any light stand with a 5/8" top stud, and will allow vertical or horizontal mounting of a light fixture, flash, or camera that has a 1/4"-20 threaded receptor.

I own two of these and use them on Bogen 2-section articulated swivel arms to put Nikon speedlights in some otherwise awkward spaces. On top of the rapid adaptors, I put mini-ball heads and on top of that I screw in the Nikon speedlight stands that came with my SB-800s. And I put the whole shebang (articulated swivel arm with rapid adaptor and mini-ball head) on a Bogen super clamp. This is a great way to mount a flash in a space that's too tight for a light stand.

Simple and effective but not very flexible. Buy the 026 Swivel Umbrella Adaptr (Lite-Tite) instead...a few more bucks but worth it.

This little unit is simply a good little piece. Strongly built. The shaft and nut would be nice if they were a little thicker because I was a little afraid it might break off with my Beauty dish attached but I just backed it up with 2 fender washers and it seems to hold perfect.

I bought two of these to replace the ones on my Smith-Victor 720SG lights and I am not disappointed! The are solid and easier to remove than the original item.

This beautiful little adapter is just what I needed to connect my painter's pole rig with the Kacey metal head adapter I got for it. It allows me to attach my Pocket Wizard AC7 straight to the pole. Awesome product!

I typically use the adaptor to toss thyristor-flashes on light stands. For certain situations, I often don't need to use umbrella adaptors, and this guy comes in quite handy!

Very usefull on the bottom of a Norman 200B, or Lumydine type of flash head. In fact usefull where there is a 1/4x20 female thread and you need to mount the object via a stud to something like a supper clamp or an umbrella swivel.
