Great for holding a Profoto pack to the stand as a counterweight and to make sure the stand doesn't fall over. Fits perfectly into the slot on the Superclamp (Mafer)

After getting these 2 hooks with the Super Clamp, I can't believe I didn't do it sooner!! I use this on my portable light stand to hold the battery and I use it for my 5 lb weight bag! I also use for backdrop poles in the studio!!! Makes life easier!!

Are these sturdy enough to hang a 25lb shot/sand bag on? I'm trying to find a better way to attach sandbags to my stands and these + super clamps look like might do the trick.

That would be the Manfrotto 035 Super Clamp without Stud B&H # MA035. There is hex shaped slot on the side of the clamp to accept one of those U-Hooks. They would be used to hold up a cross bar from a light stand or the Manfrotto Autopole system.

Will one of these be enough to hold a 25lb. sandbag?
It may be able to hold that weight but it is not designed for that so there is a risk of failure where the hook and stud attach. I wouldn't recommend it.

can someone tell me what the width across the Manfrotto U-Hook is? I have a 1 7/8 manfrotto pole diameter and wonder if it will fit. thanx!
Hi Dean,The width of the hook is 1.7 in. This makes it a little small for your pole. I am wondering about the application of the hooks. They are intended to support a smaller diameter pole, which supports a seamless paper roll, for a backdrop. For this purpose, I use 1-inch EMT electrical conduit (1.15 in diameter), which is cheap and comes up to 12 ft long, for wide backdrops. If you want to connect a pole to a vertical Autopole, the best choice is is a Manfrotto CC-128 Double Super Clamp (see below).I really hope this helps. I know that there are about a thousand different Autopole attachments, and it all can be a little bewildering.
