This case is good for very specific shooting. Your lens choice is limited and focusing is a little tough. It is also awkward to use if you want the camera to be horizontal.

I bought this so we could go Kayaking and still be able to take my camera for great photos.

It's pretty big, but allows you fit your camera in better and lens length fits my 70-300 Nikon lens.

I first bought the WPH10 for this camera. But it was too small. So I sent it back and ordered the WP-S10. It is too big for the camera. The FZ35 is not an SLR but is about the same size as a small SLR. I will try to find some foam to make the camera fit into the case. This will be a pain in the neck to accomplish but I'm going to try it.

I use the WP-S10 Waterproof Case by Dicapac while kayaking and find it to be very reliable in regards to keeping my Nikon D300 dry. It has the appearance of being very big, but it holds the camera well. The finger holes used to operate the camera are designed well with the exception of the lens fingers. They are a bit awkward to use. The only negative (and this is with any waterproof camera or case) is that you have to ensure that the outer lens is free from water spray if you want your pictures to be clear. Definately worth the price to ensure my DSLR remaiins dry!

I have not put this thing to the full extreme of putting my DSLR under water but it acts as a great rain shield.

I tested the item out in a sink and the contents remained bone dry.

The overall concept is good, and it is a somewhat functional accessory. The good is that you can use the built in flash, and reach controls reasonably well, does not leak, and it is not terribly expensive. The bad is that the bag is a bit buoyant so I found it a bit of a battle at times to keep it at the right depth. The worst thing about the bag is the lens. Horrible quality for the price. My pics turn out as well as a cheap disposable. A glass lens would be great. Or just put in a good gasket and let people put their own filter on the front.

This product has been great for handling minor splashes in the surf as well as full submersions. Although the rear window doesn't work that well for dials (Canon 7d, 5dmkII, etc) it does work well with the newer rebels that still have directional pads and digital viewfinders. The hole for the shutter button is adequate and can access the jog dial (not other buttons on top of the camera). Since there is pressure on the lens during full submersion, prime lens work the best; most zoom lens will be pressed into their widest focal length(not necessarily a bad thing underwater). Overall, its a great value product for those not wanting to take the plunge into a $3k pro housing.

The product has an overall good quality, works fine, gives you a very good way to have some pics on the water.
But (there's always a but) you may find that the part that holds the lens hasn't been thought very well. You always have to keep the end of the lens close to the cover part that holds it close, in order to avoid that annoying vignetting. A simple rubber ring on the inside, where you may insert your lens would fix this, but it doesn't come.

I purchased the WP-S10 in hopes that I would be able to use it on a raft trip. I thought that most of my shooting would be above the water line so this pack looked perfect for the rapids. I encountered problems as soon as I put my camera into the bag and tried to take pictures around the house. I was shooting with the Canon 5D Mk2 and a 17-40 zoom lens. This combination floats around in this bag far too much and handling the controls and lens port was cumbersome at best. The polycarbonate window looks clear alright, but at close inspection shows surface distortion. (Possibly from the polishing process.) Since the polycarbonate window and port is larger (much larger) than the actual lens, it had a tendency to slip to the side and the edges of the port was in my picture often. When I did hold it close to the lens, it still had enough play that contact surely would have scratched the window. Others have installed some sort of retaining foam and perhaps this would work for videos if one sets everything up before putting it into the bag. The zoom control was difficult to operate and I found that I had to place my fingers in unconventional positions to rotate it. Auto focus was about the only convenient way to focus it. The two stars are simply because the price of this bag is far better than anything else out there. So if you simply want to take an occasional picture or video under the surface, this bag may work for you. For any serious pictures, the polycarbonate surface distortion and the cumbersome use of controls dictates: go spend more money.[...]

I used it with a Nikon DSLR for snorkeling in the Bahamas. It was watertight but difficult to manipulate the controls in the water. Could only use the shutter but the pictures turned out quite nice!

I saw one of these strapped around a tourist at Niagara Falls and knew I had to have one.

I have used this kayaking and found it to be exactly what I was looking for, protection against rain and water splashes.

I have not completely submerged this with my Canon 20D as of yet, but will be in Aruba soon and plan on trying to capture some underwater shots.

I used this for a photo shoot in a pool. I wouldn't for anything more "stressing" than that, ie waterskiing or the like, but for a basic underwater shoot, it was great. I could use the zoom and even move the setting a little bit (Nikon D7000), but most of the settings do need to be set before the camera is in the bag. It comes with foam boards to get your camera at the right height. I used it with the straps shoved to the side and bottom but in the future I'll take them off completely. The only major con is you can't adjust the lens length of the bag, so while underwater you have to hold the camera down, press the button, and hold the lens in all while staying underwater. I just got creative and used the pool ladder the keep me down and that was the end of that issue. (Since its long, if you have a short lens you'll see the bag lens edges in your photos). While its great for pool use, I'd never voluntarily use it for simple rain or the like.

I purchased this camera case to use as a splash proof case.With the number of negative reports I have seen regarding it's reliability and the fact that one must spend 10 times as much to purchase a high quality and reliable waterproof case, don't expect this bag to be a cheap and safe entry into the world of professional underwater photography.Buy this product with the expectation that leakage is quite possible. Take precautions and treat the product as 'splash proof' with the possibility that it may work perfectly underwater pending successful passing of thorough testing. My particular specimen is fantastic, and I consider the product to be very good value and good quality. I happily submerge my old Canon 350D, but haven't yet had the confidence to submerge my 50D. Getting under breaking waves and heavy rain storms is great. But when I have only spent [$], I won't rely on it to protect my preferred camera setup worth 35 times as much while pursuing underwater activities.Pros1. Plenty of room for large SLR cameras with bulky lens.2. Great value for money compared to the next level up.3. Materials appear to be of good qualityCons:1. The finger holders installed to allow rotation of the lens are almost impossible to manoeuvre. Their inclusion merely adds additional seems prone to leakage.2. Passed the water test. I am able to operate controls and rotate lens for zoom. Will use a collapsible rubber lens hood to prevent scratches to the DiCAPac lens.

I have small hands and fingers which probably makes operation of the camera controls easier.

My camera (Canon Rebel XSI) sits between my legs when kayaking and I think this case is exactly what I have been searching for. Reasonable price for an inovative device.

This was bought for me as a gift right before an important trip. I did the waterproof test and the bag failed, one of the seams wasn't welded propery. [...] The second bag has passed but I haven't had it out on my kayak to fully test it. My major complaint is the quality control of the company that makes it. I would pay more for it if they took the time to waterproof test every bag. You're going to put thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment that is the least they should do. My replacement I did put Velcro in it like others have suggested and it seems to work great. All of my test photos have had very little loss of quality so I'm happy about that.It is hard to use the controls and load the camera in the bag but it is a water proof bag so I expect that. You just need to think through your settings before you go out.I have to remove the battery grip from my camera for it to fit so a pro body won't fit. The company adds micro-cell foam to shim up the bottom so I don't understand why they don't make the bag long enough to fit a probody.Overall it fits my needs w/o having to spend $3k on a dive housing to take my camera on my kayak.

I purchased this case as weather protection, not to take my DSLR underwater. It works well for what I need at the moment. It has a sleeve for your finger, so you are able to manipulate the controls a bit. There is a definite lack of maneuverability in regards to changing any settings. Overall, I feel like it was a good investment for my needs. I did have some difficulty in making sure all the seals met at the right places.

FIrst off, it works. Simple to use and kept my 7D dry as a bone. I tested in tub with paper towels prior to using it with my camera and no issues whatsoever.An hour later, I was 4'-6' underwater in a pool shooting my kids swimming. Next stop? The beach! Great video and stills. Kicks tail with the EFS 10-22.[@]Yes, finger controls are tough to use, but still I could adjust focal length, start and stop video, and shoot still without too much trouble.for less than a $100, it is a home run!
