Comments about Sony KDL-52V4100 52" 1080p Bravia LCD TV:
We watch BD movies on this TV as well as regular DVDs and the picture quality is astounding! Even watching TV, whether HD or SD the picture is great. The ease of setting this TV up is great. The menu is interactive and allows you to exactly what you want it to do. I tend to watch TV while doing my dishes and would have to turn our old TV towards the kitchen to see what was on, now the TV stays in one place! Movie nights tend to happen at our house more then ever, too.

Comments about Sony KDL-52V4100 52" 1080p Bravia LCD TV:
This tv is in the middle, if you have the money go for the 120hz w series. If you are really rich then try out xbr or Z series with 10bit panels and 120hz. The Samsungs of the 6 series are better than this TV but you have to pay 300 more. Overall it is a pretty good sized HD tv. Everything you would expect in a tv sold in 2008. [$] Bad things include slight motion blur being 60hz which is noticeable in 720p and higher as this is 52inches. 178 viewing angle is not as good as it should be in 2008 and compared to the Samsung 6 series. Flipping channels takes more time than it should. TV is slow in finding channels. Brightness is good but not as good as Samsung 6 series. Navigation is good and innovative but not refined to perfection. I think that this tv would be a great compromise especially if you are planning on spending more money down the road to buy a tv stand, blue ray player and surround sound. The quality is much better in terms of looks and material used than Sharp, Toshiba and Panasonic of similar price point and size. This tv beats Samsung 5 series hands down but is beaten by the Samsung 6 series at this size, of course price reflects that pretty well.

Purchase this as an upgrade to our more than 5 year old tube tv. So far it has performed well and we are quite happy with our upgrade to HD.
images are sharp and clear and interface and set-up is quite easy.

Comments about Sony KDL-52V4100 52" 1080p Bravia LCD TV:
I use this television both as an HDTV and as a second display for editing photos and it works beautifully as both.
The blacks are black and the whites are white, colors are pretty accurate (as accurate as any other LCD TV I looked at, which includes a lot of TVs), the motion blur is non-existent, and the display is easily bright enough to watch during the middle of the day with the blinds open. Just because it has electricity running through it doesn't mean Sony is the best manufacturer of it, but they are one of the best at producing televisions and this TV gives you that without their typically excessive price.
The only thing I don't like about the TV is that it weighs close to 34 tons, but that's not any different from any other 50-something inch TVs, so I can't really complain.
For setup, I pulled it out of the box, plugged the power cable in and pushed the power button - that's it. For plugging in cable boxes, Blu-ray players, old-school Nintendos, or whatever else you need, there are plenty of plugs in the back, they're easy to get to, and quite well labeled.
I spent about 12 hours researching televisions comparing price, contrast ratios, brightness, general attractiveness, resolutions, size, and a half dozen other things and I am quite happy I ended up with this TV.
