O Reader-39 da Delkin Devices é um slot único de leitor/gravador de Alta Velocidade para Cartões CompactFlash Tipos I/II e Microdrive. Suporta cartões habilitados com UDMA e conecta-se a computadores Windows e Macintosh via uma imterface FireWire 400*/800, oferecendo uma velocidade de transferência de dados de alta velocidade de até 45Mb/s**. O Reader-39 é um dispositivo "plug and play", então não são necessários drivers. Ele suporta hot swapping, de modo que não é preciso reiniciar o leitor ao carregar o cartão.

I received the unit only a few days ago and have used it only a little. So far it has done well The cable and connectors are sturdy and should wear well. The unit is light weight and compact, easily fits in my camera bag.
I use Fire Wire 800 and with my Lexar Pro cards the download speed is excellent.
It is easier to load than the Lexar reader.
i gave it 4 stars because I don't yet know how durable it is.

Product is much faster on downloads.I download large wedding jpeg's and we don't have to wait on a slow usb any more.The Reader-39 is at best 50% faster.

I had been looking for replacement for the Lexar firewire reader that I owned because of the inconsistency in that unit for mounting my cards and the corruption that it seemed to cause in my cf cards. My decision came down to this reader and the Sandisk reader.
Both use the same chipset and are very fast. I went with this Delkin because it has the integrated cable and I like that very much. No more looking for lost cabling. It's a very compact reader and so is easily stored in your bag.
I use this reader everyday with both my Mac Pro and my MacBook Pro with Sandisk and Lexar cf cards and it is always up to the task. I highly recommend it!

I bought this reader to go along with my 16gb cards for my Canon 7D camera. This has performed well, with not hitches! Although the chord seems to weigh more than the actual box. But I have used it to transfer over a lot of footage without any problems.

I still use an older Mac laptop that doesn't have USB2. So, having a firewire option to transfer files from a compact flash chip is great. This reader is quite fast.
