Comments about National Geographic NG 2477 Earth Explorer Large Shoulder Bag (Beige):
Comfortably fits: Canon T1i attached to a 24-70L; 70-200L/2.8 II; 11-16/2.8; Speedlite 580EX II, collapsible diffuser; MacBook Pro; power cords and accessories! Naturally, the bag becomes heavy with all this gear, but it's shown its durability. Very pleased!
(Just wish there was a backpack converter harness to go along with it!)

Comments about National Geographic NG 2477 Earth Explorer Large Shoulder Bag (Beige):
Just as you would expect bearing the National Geographic name, this thing is tough. More than enough room for a day trip. Granted, there isn't enough room for the kitchen sink. But, 2 bodies, 70-200mm 2.8, 35, 50 and 85mm 1.4 lenses, 2 speedlite's, 17" laptop, CF wallet, filters, business cards, pens and model releases all fit easily. The 2 inner pouches can be moved or removed to accomadate different size of gear. The shoulder strap is sewn on...not just tacked on like other bags. Comfortable and large hand grip that even gloved hands can easily hold onto. This thing is very well build. There is a "rain" flap inside that can be rolled up for ease of access. Also, there is an aluminum stave in the top to keep the shape and prevent the case from looking like a rag doll.
There are 2 reasons why it only rec'd 4 stars:
1.) I would have like to seen a velcro style latch closure, rather than the 2 snaps.
2.) The rear horizontal straps are too narrow to fit on my Porter Case CART trolley.

Comments about National Geographic NG 2477 Earth Explorer Large Shoulder Bag (Beige):
When I bought this bag I was between this one and the NG 2475, the possibility of carrying my 15,6' laptop made me decide for the bigger one.
Maybe the size could be the only downside, It's really BIG, you can easily fit a 17' laptop, two bodies with attached lenses and a couple of extra lenses plus a speedlight and in the pockets, batteries, filters etc.
As I have to carry my laptop to work, I use it as an every day bag, I carry my Canon T1i with a Sigma 18-200 attached and a 50 mm 1.8, my books, and there's plenty of spare room to put the laptop cable plus some clothes.
The overall build quality is great and the pockets are extremely comfortable.
Bottom line, the bag is great but is really huge, if you don't need to carry your laptop I would recommend the NG 2475.

Like most photographers I'm always looking for a better bag. This bag was a pleasant surprise. This bag is much larger than the description would lead you to believe. 2 bodies, 6 lenses, a point-and-shoot, a tripod, filters and accessories, a laptop, and room left.

Comments about National Geographic NG 2477 Earth Explorer Large Shoulder Bag (Beige):
This bag has so much room I had to buy two more lenses just to fill it up. My 500mm tele (on the camera) fits just fine. It does not scream "I am a camera bag...steal me!" It's easy to attach a tripod and small light kit. I am a retired industrial designer and if I designed a bag...this would be it.
If I had to find a nit to pick, it would be the closures on the front flap. They're a little fussy...but so am I.

Comments about National Geographic NG 2477 Earth Explorer Large Shoulder Bag (Beige):
I use the bag for carrying one 14-15" laptop, a Nikon D300 and two lenses along with accessories. The bag has ample padding to shield the items inside, and is easily the most comfortable to carry around.
The best think I like about the bag is that it doesn't look like a camera bag, and the khaki color and casual trim gives it a rugged look.

It has very good quality, and big enough. the only thing I dislike is that every time I open it, I have to open two buttons and a zip. It is a little bit of fussy.

i am trainer who travels a lot, i needed a bag to carry my laptop, simple video camera, handbook, mobile and accessories. I focused my search on large bags with external pockets and eventually i chose NG. I am very happy with my decision but would have been happier if i could have another inner compartment for docs and books (I took out the lens pockets).

Very roomy & cleverly designed. Lots of pockets most of them very secured. The designer put a lot of thought into this bag and then made it with first rate material.

Comments about National Geographic NG 2477 Earth Explorer Large Shoulder Bag (Beige):
This bag is perfect for 2 cameras, 17" MacBook Pro and misc items. I prefer it over other "camera" bags because it doesn't scream "camera geek" from a mile away. I am a pro and don't need a bag, tripod or several long lenses to announce me. Understated and exceptionally functional.

Comments about National Geographic NG 2477 Earth Explorer Large Shoulder Bag (Beige):
I teetered back and forth on buying this bag for at least a year. I couldn't find any local shops that carried it and there are very limited reviews of it online. But I broke down and bought it a few weeks ago. It showed up in good condition and ready to use. But before I put a single item into I gave it a waterproofing treatment. The material seems durable and the construction feels solid but it also seems like it will get dirty quickly due to it's light coloring and heavy texture. It reminds me of a burlap or hemp fabric. My wife hates the color and doesn't think it fits "my" photog look. But that's one of the things that interested me in the bag. It doesn't look like I have a goldmine over my shoulder like most camera bags. But truth be told, I would have liked it to be a darker color too. I even thought about dyeing it black before I did the waterproofing on it. But it is what it is right?
So now, I have most of my gear moved over to it. It's heavy. But it should be because it's a large bag and holds lots of stuff. I'm still working out the organization of the pouches but I think it will work fine once I get comfortable with it (I've always used backpacks in the past). I've had it out in the field once so far and it seemed to do it's job well enough.
One of the things I may try doing later is adding a few accessory rings or hooks. I like to carry light stands and umbrellas with me. If I can find a way to do this in a light and convenient way I can eliminate another bag to carry.

The bag has lots of room for camera gear and a laptop. There are two large sections in the center that can be removed which is handy if you have several lens. Only down fall, is that the bag gets heavy if you fully load it with gear, but then no bag can over-come this issue.

This bag has everything I was looking for. Room for my 15.5" Thinkpad laptop with good padding, and lots of room for either camera gear (in two separate, removable, padded compartments) or some clothing for a quick trip. I wasn't sure about the simple snap closures but they held up well and were easy to open/close when going through the TSA checkpoints at the airports. And the padded strap is actually comfortable on my shoulder.
The four pockets were more then enough for assorted computer related items. Very well made. Even my wife who never pays attention to my computer/camera gear remarked it was a nice looking bag.

This bag is very well built and has loads of room. I can easily pack two dSLR bodies, a speedlite, and video camera as well as a couple of lenses in this bag. It has lots of pockets and compartments for batteries, memory cards, remote controls, and lots of other accessories. The closures are well placed and very durable. I like the fact that the main compartment has a zippered closure, as well as two dividers that cushion each camera. For a large bag, it is very comfortable to carry, either with the shoulder strap or the handle attached to the top. You can pack all of your equipment without being obvious that you are carrying thousands of dollars worth of equipment. It also makes a great airline carryon!

One if the things I like best about this bag is that it dosen't look like a camera bag from the outside. Inside there are some padded dividers to help you organize your equipment. I am using it to carry my Canon 30D with the Canon 28-135 lens attached in addition to the Canon 70-200 lens and I have lots of extra room. The pockets come in handy for extra memory cards, batteries, and filters. There is even a space for a laptop. Once you get the bag open it is very easy to access your equipment however there are 2 snaps on the outside as well as a zipper inside that you have to open first.

I have myself a the Canon Rebel XTI and have just recently purchased the Canon HV30 and to my surprise , this bag fits them both PERFECTLY.
There are two compartments there that is supposed to be one for the camera/camcorder and the other for the charger/extra battery packs, but I use one for the camera and one for the camcorder. There is plenty of space inside for your chargers/extra battery packs.
However, this bag does not stop there. You can also fit your laptop in very easily. It's like putting on a glove and I have a 17" Compaq.
The bag may seem big because it says 'LARGE' but to my surprise it is not big at all. I can wear it and not be ashamed. No one knows that I have thousands of dollars of equipment in there like other bags do.
This bag is a must get!
