The Manfrotto 323 RC2 System Quick Release Adapter with 200PL-14 Plate adds a compact quick release system to any head that does not include one yet. Its compact 200PL-14 (old part #3157N) quick release plate makes it ideal for use with point and shoot cameras, digital SLR cameras, or spotting scopes.
The 323 adapter allows quick mounting and dismounting of the camera from the tripod head. A 3/8"-16 threaded socket with a 1/4"-20 reducer bushing makes it compatible with any tripod head.
Replaces old part #3299.

I use the 323 RC2 System Quick Release Adapter with 200PL-14 Plate by Manfrotto with a gang of 200PL-14 Plates for all of my equipment.
I filed down the top of the plate on my 679B Three Section Monopod (Black) so that I could screw this plate on directly. It allows me to fold out my monopod and slap down my 400mm f2.8 in two fluid movements. I have tried many solutions to this and this one is by far the best. I mount the 200PL-14 Plate backwards so that I can rock the heavy side with the camera attached to the 400mm f2.8 lower at first. That means my right hand on the lens mount with my arm and elbow holding the weight and my left hand holding the monopod and I rock the plate and lock it down. It is just great!
As a side note, I freaked out the sales people when I put the 400mm f2.8 with a D3 on it and shook the monopod to see if the monopod would snap or if the plate would come off! Everything held together perfectly! (I don't use a ballhead on the monopod because no matter what the lens tends to flop or the head is at some weird angle right when you need to just slap down the lens and go.)

I bought this adapter to use with my Sachtler tripod head as it was too much trouble switching plates all the time (I have a Manfrotto monopod).
The Manfrotto rep said this system would work with my Sachtler, which it does to some extent. But the adapter will not lock into place. I'll have to be a bit careful with it, and will see how often I use it over time ...

Comments about Manfrotto 323 RC2 System Quick Release Adapter with 200PL-14 Plate:
The system works well. But this is a replacement because even though I thought I tightened the first on particularly well it still managed to work itself loose and fell off unbeknownst to me. Was used with a BA-0 ballhead.

Comments about Manfrotto 323 RC2 System Quick Release Adapter with 200PL-14 Plate:
I used this adaptor on my Glidecam XR-1000 in order to have a simple quick release adaptor. I additionally purchased a few others for my tripod and monopod. The adaptor is easy to install and works great. Now I can easily switch from all my various support systems when recording video. My only complaint, and maybe it's out there, but I wish that you were able to only purchase the adaptor and not the additional plate. Not a big deal as this is a relatively inexpensive component though. I just have an extra plate that has no use at this point.

Comments about Manfrotto 323 RC2 System Quick Release Adapter with 200PL-14 Plate:
This has made things so much easier. I have problems with hand dexterity and this has reduced a lot of pain in trying to tighten the Bogen tripod screw enough so it does not slip for both my SLR camera and my painter's pochade. Solid grip, strong and well made. I bought an extra plate too.

I use this with a monopod and my Canon T3i. The setup up is quick and easy. Attaching and detaching the dslr is a snap. I particularly appreciate the extra "safety" switch that keeps you from accidentally releasing the latch. I would recommend this to others who wish to use it in a similar fashion.

The base plate with the arm is not flat, and I could not put it on the plate I needed to. I'm sure it is a good product, but if you need to put it on something flat then it is not for you.

Good mount. However will not work on stabilizers such as the flycam. The bottom of plate is not flushed with the flycam plate..Got this because I wanted to have the same mount as my tripod and slider....for stabilizers youll need the bigger plates.

Really trying to standardize all my tripods to one plate.
Really like the quality of Manfrotto and like that I do not need a tool/coin/key to tighten this plate.
and that it's small profile means I can normally leave it on the camera.
As many have already noted, There is a small bump on the bottom, So it won't mount evenly on a large flat surface.

I think this is my third RC2, not because they stopped working, but because I'd lose a part, and other human errors. I wouldn't change a thing. Great maker, great product.

Fit perfectly on my monopod!
I'm not sure of the brand off the top of my head. It was a carbon fiber one I bought from a different store a while back.
Seems really sturdy and it will be nice to be able to use with my manfrotto plates.

After help with the on-line chat I was able to get this adapter for my now out of date tripod. It was easy to put it on the tri-pod and works very well with my camera too. I am very happy with this Quick Release.

Comments about Manfrotto 323 RC2 System Quick Release Adapter with 200PL-14 Plate:
I like the RC2 quick release system, have another RC2 ballhead and several 200PL-14 plates. I bought this to mount on my Manfrotto 468MG ballhead but the pin (on the underside) for the lever interferes with the mounting plate on the ball head. It also interferes with the plates on my Gitzo & Manfrotto monopods as well as the plate on my Gitzo 2541 tripod(if I remove the ballhead.) I put a large washer beneath it to provide some spacing but there is very little thread contact for the mounting screw. If the adapter was made 2mm thicker it would work.

Comments about Manfrotto 323 RC2 System Quick Release Adapter with 200PL-14 Plate:
There's not much to stay about this amazing Manfrotto product. It's simple, striaght forward design is magnificent and easy to use! Attach the bottom peice to any 1/4-20 tripod head, the other to your 1/4-20 threaded hole DSLR, GoPro Tripod adaptor or anything else thats the same measurement and you're golden! If you need to remove your camera from the tripod just un-click the locking lever and pull the camera towards you. It's a great feature to have when shooting something such as wildlife that requires complete stabilization when all of a sudden something before you captures your eye and you don't need to move the entire tripod with you. Just "quick release" and you're ready to shoot again!
I own two of these, one for my Manfrotto tripod, another for my Joby Gorilla Tripod and I'm about to order two more for my slider cam and my flycam nano. You gotta love that quick release! It beats screwing and unscrewing those annoying tiny, hard to get to screw knobs when you only have a few quick seconds before your subject decides to fly away.

I needed a quick, easy way to get my 7" LCD monitor on and off the Cine Arm. The Manfrotto Quick Release Adapter is perfect for the job. When you put it on and it clicks in, it is solid and does not move.
