The Kata DR-461 Digital Micro Rucksack (Black) features TST RIB structural protection for a digital SLR camera with mounted lenses, 2-3 additional lenses, flash and accessories; or it can provide the same protection for a compact camcorder with accessories such as chargers and cables plus personal gear. The compartment holds a digital SLR in top grip position while the modular dividers system will separate, organize and protect lenses, flashes and other accessories. Additional gear can be stored in the front pocket, which can be accessed either externally or internally.
The included yellow Elements Rain Cover folds neatly away into an integrated pocket and can be hung out to dry on the small buckle next to the handle, or tucked away for storage in one of the pockets. The bag is carried by a backpack harness, a chest belt and balancing waist strap.

This small, lightweight, high quality, well-constructed bag is mightily deceptive! I thought I'd only be able to tuck in my m4/3 camera, maybe a couple of lenses,
a spare battery, filters and a bottle of water. Instead, my entire m4/3 kit fits nicely in the DR-461. Here's what's in the rucksack right now:
- Panasonic G3 body
- Leica Macro Elmarit 45mm lens
- Lumix 20mm lens
- Lumix 100-300mm lens
- Lumix 14-45mm lens
- Lumix 7-14mm lens
- Lumix 14-140mm lens
- Panny FL360 flash and three diffusers
- Panny RSL1 remote shutter release
- 2 spare batteries and charger
- filters, lenspens, sd cards, cleaning cloth, pen, notepad
- iPhone
- iPad and charger
- REI multitowel lite extra large
- water bottle
For daylong hikes, I only bring along 2 or 3 lenses to keep the pack at a lighter weight, but for city walks and short hikes the weight is still fine even with all of the above in the pack.
The quality, as noted in other reviews here, is exceptional, just as you'd expect from any Kata product. Though small and lightweight, the padding is still thick enough to protect my gear even when the pack bumps up against boulders or trees while climbing.
I bought this thinking that I'd need to eventually buy a second, larger backpack for trips in which I wanted to carry my entire kit, but this little rucksack handles a surprising amount of gear with ease. Being able to toss in the iPad is an unexpected bonus.
It doesn't have a tripod harness, but at such a small size (not even waist length!) this would be impossible - and anyway, it's easy enough to throw the tripod in its original carrying case over one shoulder. Carrying both the DR-461 and the tripod is manageable even for longer distances. No waist harness but again, it's too short to benefit from one and the built-in chest harness works well enough for balancing weight across the shoulders.
The inserts can also be completely removed to convert it to a normal backpack configuration for overnight trips. Bottom line: it's beautifully designed, strong, well- made, protective and amazingly roomy, and will probably be the last camera bag that I'll ever need to buy. Very highly reccomend it.

Comments about Kata DR-461 Digital Micro Rucksack:
It's easy to be fooled by its size - but all my everyday gear (canon 60d and 3 lenses) fits neatly into this compact backpack with room to spare. plus, there's plenty of space for lens caps, extra batteries, water bottle and snack, and whatever else i'd need for a typical shoot.

Comments about Kata DR-461 Digital Micro Rucksack:
I been using it for over 2 years now and plan to get another one before they stop production. I take it to all my portrait shoots and even theme parks. It fits perfectly my dslr, speed light, and another lens. Also, another compartment for accesories. I have other bags and tried them but this was the total solution. It is so compact and light that it fools but it packs a lot.

Comments about Kata DR-461 Digital Micro Rucksack:
I am using it for my SLR which fits in perfectly and still have a space for my camcorder. Light weight and very comfortable. I would not have completed my toughest hiking to Yosemite Upper Falls and captured best shots nature provided without it. Easy to handle and perfect fit. I wish it could fit laptop too but still no major regrets.
A must buy recommendation from myside. You won't regret. But you may if you don't have one. Definitely worth its value.

Comments about Kata DR-461 Digital Micro Rucksack:
I got this rucksack to hold/carry my dSLR, lenses, and accessories. I LOVE it! It has plenty of room for the camera, 2 lenses (at least), accessories, and then some. I have only 2 minor complaints. First, I had thought it would have a waist belt to help steady it, which it doesn't. However, I guess because of its relatively compact size and shoulder strap design, it really doesn't seem necessary. Second, the rain cover does have a strap with a clip on it, so it would seem meant to clip onto something, if desired. Unfortunately, the clip is not very sturdy, so I would be too afraid of losing the cover if I clipped it to the outside of the pack or something. Other than that, I would highly recommend this pack!

This is a wonderful bag for your camera! It is very compact, but yet has compartments to hold everything you need. I carry the camera with attached zoom lens, external flash, lens hood, and various filters. There is space left over for an additional lens as well.

I love this backpack. It holds one body and 2 lenses with my charger too, or you could have a body and 3 lenses in the bag. I do wish the rain cover was built into the pack rather than something additional I have to carry in the pack though.

Comments about Kata DR-461 Digital Micro Rucksack:
It is small, compact, and does the job for me. Being a amateur, I only have one extra lens to carry other than the orginal that came with the camera.
It is light weight and well compartmentalized. I can only suggest making the straps near the shoulder area a bit wider so that it does not rub against the chin when turning around.

Overall well pleased with backpack. I do like the "raincoat" that came with the bag. It does not make the bag completely waterproof but it is extra protection that is not provided by other companies.

It's very large and very comfortable, I carry my d90, Sigma 10-20, Nikon 18-105, av cables, charger, computer hookup for camera, a bottle of lens cleaner, lens towel, and my camera manual, and I still have room for more stuff to fit into this bag

Comments about Kata DR-461 Digital Micro Rucksack:
What's great:
Fits my D90 with 2 zoom lenses (18-105, 70-300), and all accessories. Would only fit an additional lens and flash though. I am not sure the 4/5 lens advertisement is accurate.
Very comfortable to carry. The equipment feels safe in there.
What's not so great:
I have to take it off, put it on the floor to get the gear out. If you will require taking your camera out a lot, this may not be the bag for you.
