Designed for Electronic News Gathering, the JK Audio BluePack lets you gather on-the-street interviews and stream them over Bluetooth to your smartphone, tablet, or computer. Record high-quality audio straight to your favorite compatible device, or transmit the audio over an HD Voice connection back to the studio for live broadcast. All of this is accomplished thanks to a relatively compact, beltpack-style form-factor.
The BluePack offers an XLR mic input for dynamic microphones, a 3.5mm auxiliary input, and two different output jacks. Use the 1/4" output with headphones to monitor sound through a powerful headphone amplifier. The 3.5mm output, on the other hand, provides two separated channels. The left channel holds the full-bandwidth signal from the microphone, while the right carries the Bluetooth-return audio. This setup allows for redundant backup recording onto your favorite recorder, so you're always protected should the Bluetooth transmission go haywire.
As the Bluetooth return is separated from the microphone signal, you can also use this stereo output to set up a mix-minus connection for phone-interviews, thus avoiding pesky echoes and feedback.
Volume controls are provided for the microphone, the auxiliary input, and the headphones. The auxiliary input can be used with any compatible media player to layer in external audio, such as music beds or soundbites that need to be mixed in the field.
Only two buttons are needed for operation: a power button and a Bluetooth on/off button. The unit uses a single 9V battery and operates for up to 10 hours. The device gives you a 66' range.
