The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ50 Digital Camera is remarkable in that it contains a 10x wide-angle optical zoom lens in a compact, stylish body for the ultimate in picture performance and user convenience. The camera is also equipped with Wi-Fi capability using standard 802.11b/g wireless LAN connectivity and access to T-Mobile HotSpot* service so users can upload digital photos taken with the DMC-TZ50 directly to Picasa Web Albums - a free online photo-sharing service from Google.
With 9.1 effective megapixels of resolution for incredibly detailed images, and a wide-angle Leica DC lens (equivalent to 28-280mm on a 35mm film camera), this versatile camera is well suited to a broad range of shooting opportunities. You can easily capture a large group of people, or expansive architectural structures and landscapes with the wide end of the zoom range, or zoom in for sports, wildlife and event photography. In addition, the Optical Image Stabilizer feature (Mega O.I.S) minimizes the jitter from shaky hands that causes many photos to look blurred, ensuring that your images are always beautifully clear.
The DMC-TZ50 is incredibly fast thanks to the Venus Engine IV processor, which provides fast consecutive shooting, and boasts outstanding response time thus enabling easy capture of spur-of-the-moment shots. The image processor also provides for efficient power consumption, contributing to the cameras ability to take 300 pictures on a single charge of the included lithium-ion battery. The camera also includes a huge, bright and high resolution 3.0" LCD display to easily frame and view your images.
* 12 months of T-Mobile HotSpot service begins from the first time you automatically connect in a T-Mobile HotSpot location. U.S. only. Does not include access at T-Mobile Wi-Fi roaming locations.

Comments about Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ50 Digital Camera (Silver):
I Bought this camera after thorough research, a very difficult choice as these days each digital camera manufacturer has a special feature a step above the other, but Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ-50 got my attention not just for its documented features but also I practically used the camera ( friend's TZ-5 model - without wi-fi) and was rightaway mesmerised by it's versality, quality & clearity of HD quality stills and especially videos for this class of camera. My first photo shoot with this camera was on our family trip to New Jersey, New York City, Washington DC, Baltimore, Maryland, Indiana, Pensylvania & Philidepphia. The result - was just amazing, we had used three different cameras on this trip and the speciality of this camera on others was that on IA mode even in late evening the picture quality was way ahead of our other two cameras (they BTW are also state of the art cameras in their class but I won't name them for I respect every camera manufacturer). The HD video quality shot with Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ-50 was incredibly way ahead of any still digital camera in the market anywhere in the world right now, hold your breath - in this PRIZE RANGE camera of below $500. Heads of to Panasonic for using Leica lens to creat this marvel. My word go with your requirements of photoshoots and choose the camera, in terms of picture quality in it's class this camera is the best and [*] Last but not the least what really pleased me at end of the day was that I almost got 325 stills and 3 videos on one charge so battery capacity is just incredible, but while using it's wi-fi feature the battery life was severly affected, maybe in their next model Panasonic will look into that as well. Now rest assured I'm in no way associated with Panasonic, neither do I work for them nor do I have their stock. I just love this camera. Love Mickey Mair

Comments about Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ50 Digital Camera (Silver):
Ok, the camera is just great. Lens are fantastic (Leica), the zoom is amazing (10x optical) but I bought this camera because I would get 1 year T-mobile hotspots access... however I just could not connect. T-mobile said they didn´t have any knowledge about this promotion and about the camera! Now I'm back to Brazil and I could have saved almost [$] buying the TZ5 (the same camera without the wifi)!
