The RoKit 5 G2 from KRK is a two-way active nearfield monitor ideal for use in project or small professional studios. The monitor features a 5" glass aramid composite cone woofer that maximizes performance while minimizing distortion. The 1" neodymium soft dome tweeter provides a more natural sound than metal-domed tweeters, providing more natural mixes with less ear fatigue.
The bi-amplified design provides 45W of total power to the speaker elements. The wood cabinet features a front-firing bass port and a radically curved front baffle for minimal diffraction and a wide sweet spot. The recessed high frequency waveguide focuses the sound away from the cabinet and provides optimal pattern control.
The rear of the cabinet features XLR, TRS, and RCA inputs, allowing you to connect the monitor to virtually any sound system. An input gain control lets you precisely set the monitor to work with your other audio components, while an HF level control helps you match the speaker to your environment. The monitor is shielded for safe use near video monitors and computers.
Note! Not recommended for direct connection to computers, portable MP3 player devices or smart phones.

Comments about KRK RoKit 5 G2 45W 5" Two-Way Active Nearfield Monitor:
Bought two of these monitors for video editing and sound. What prompted me to buy these was hearing a DVD playback of one of my projects on a Bose entertainment center system. I was hearing things in the music that I hadn't heard before – which is not good. I think these will fix that. Decided on KRK as a result of product research on youtube and, more importantly, on the sound forum at DVXuser.com. I was very impressed with B&H's packing of my shipment. And as always, their price was the best I could find.

I use them in a home studio in new york, they give me a balanced flat sound so I can get the most out of my recordings. They look cool, sound great, and have good bass drivers. They are [$] each, not [$] for both. Overall, great value for these monitors. highly recommended!

I am using it for Home Recording studio. Great audio performance for the money. Must! use balanced TRS or XLR interconnect cables. Unbalanced RCA connect picks up buzz, squeal, RF noise.

This has to be one of the best investments I've made for my home studio to date. I've used Yamaha, Tanoy, Mackie, Alesis and IMO these sound the best.
Dollar for dollar these are simply the best.

I love these speakers. A musician friend has them for recording. I noticed how much I liked the sound, so I bought a pair.
These are my new desktop speakers. I am thinking of buying the larger version for my living room.
I listen to most of my music while I'm working on my computer. These are very open and natural sounding. Not harsh or bright. I listen to them all day very happily.

Comments about KRK RoKit 5 G2 45W 5" Two-Way Active Nearfield Monitor:
I use it to listen to Dubstep and electronic music. It has phenomenal highs and great lows. some of the really low lows, it unfortunately doesn't pick up. if you want to buy these speakers for listening they are perfect for a small room or for an avid music listener. the biggest things you need to remember when buying these is that they are monitors, so they will only really send music in the direction that they are pointed. If you get what I mean.

We use this as a test monitor for acoustic studies. We find the monitor to be very accurate with plenty of power output.

Comments about KRK RoKit 5 G2 45W 5" Two-Way Active Nearfield Monitor:
Don't let the price tag fool you. Despite being in the lower range for studio monitors, these speakers are excellent in every way. I'd pay [$] a pair and be content. There is absolutely no comparison in the to any other similar speakers. I listened to many in the price range and nothing could compare. These speakers are all about clarity of audio. The sound is wide open, bass notes are crisp and clear and highs are even better. We recorded our second album recently and the biggest difference between it and our first was as a result of the rockit 5's. Honestly, buying any other speakers in it's price range would be downright illogical. The sound of these beats out speakers up into the [$] range. The frequency response doesn't dip significantly until 50 Hz, so it gets almost all sub bass frequencies, and you can hear the difference. As far as studio monitors go, KRK is the way to go, hands down. These speakers are an excellent investment, and will make your mixes sound great.

Comments about KRK RoKit 5 G2 45W 5" Two-Way Active Nearfield Monitor:
These are a great pair of monitors for the price. I listened to them in the store and I was blown away with the amount of sound that comes out of such a small speaker. At 45 watts each, you will never be left wanting more volume. When compared side by side to other monitors in the price range, these can really run with the big dogs. These KRK's just sound very "real" and produce a clean, flat, even sound for mastering. I primarily use these for mixing audio in my short films and listening to music with a M&K Subwoofer and it is a great combo. Overall, great monitors for the money.

I primarily use these monitors for video editing and music listening. They really have helped improve my audio in video production. You can hear every detail! They are also just equally amazing for music listening and recording, you hear specific detail in the music that you would never notice! I would highly recommend getting the KRK sub, it really adds a lot more life and warmth to the sound. But overall these monitors are the absolute best quality you can achieve for the price you are paying!

Comments about KRK RoKit 5 G2 45W 5" Two-Way Active Nearfield Monitor:
I don't have any real in house studio recording experience. I find a lot of people like these and a lot of editors use them.
I bought them for monitoring and easy listening.
I bought 2 and hooked them up through a M-Audio Fast Track Pro.
I only use them when I need them - like watching movies, wanting to listen to certain music, editing, etc.
Remember when turning off speakers:
1. turn down the volume of your audio interface (not the monitors themselves)
2. turn off the monitors (flip the power switch behind each monitor)
3. turn off the audio interface (such as the m-audio fast track pro)
If you turn off the audio interface before turning off the KRK monitors - you well hear a loud pop and this is bad for your monitor. (This is a rule to follow for any external monitor setup.)

Comments about KRK RoKit 5 G2 45W 5" Two-Way Active Nearfield Monitor:
I listened to these monitors in the store and I was blown away by the sound quality! The highs and mids are clear and crisp and the bass is fantastic for only being a 5 inch woofer. I have been using them for about 4 months now and I have no major dislikes to note. They are very accurate and produce a very "real" sound for mixing. I have done a couple mixes on these monitors and they have turned out great! I mainly use these monitors for mixing the audio in my short films and they are perfect for that. And don't worry about volume. I have turned these up to about 45-50% volume and that was CRAZY loud. And I am a drummer so I know what "loud" is and these monitors are LOUD!!! I would recommend these monitors to anyone looking for a relatively inexpensive pair of speakers that can be used for practically anything. However, I would recommend upgrading to the Rokit 6, Rokit 8's, or even the VXT series if you can afford it. KRK makes a great product and I would buy from them again.
