The 8TB VideoRAID SR Hard Drive Array from Avid is an external SAS hard drive array, designed for use in professional video editing environments. Housed in a 3U rackmount form factor, the array ships with a host adapter card to ensure compatibility with your computer. It is certified for use in Avid editing systems.
RAID Data Protection
The included host adapter features a RAID 5 controller. RAID 5 dedicates some of the space on the array's sixteen disks for use as a parity data. This allows you to rebuild your data in the event of a single drive failure within the array. Because of this data protection, only 80% of the array's capacity is available for use.
Hot Swappable Drives
The array chassis features hot-swappable hard drives. This allows you to quickly swap out a disk in the event of a hardware failure. You can also rotate full sets of disks in and out of the enclosure as you work on different projects.
