The RFR105 Universal Mounting Adapter from CAM Engineering is designed for photographers wanting to use the CAM Engineering Reporter Flash Ring on cameras not equipped with a vertical grip. With this adapter, any DSLR/SLR camera with its tripod socket centered under the lens mount can use the Reporter Flash Ring bracket.
On rare cameras, the battery compartment is located close to the tripod mounting socket. In such cases, the RFR105 adapter blocks the compartment door, meaning to exchange the battery you must remove the adapter. A minimum 1.5" (38mm) space between the mounting socket and the battery compartment door is required in order to open the battery cover without removing the camera from the bracket.
