Who ever said capturing video like a pro had to be difficult? Sony presents the outstanding HDR-SR12 120GB Hybrid HDD/Memory Stick High Definition Camcorder. This camcorder marries user friendly recording and easy playback with a full HD, hybrid system that records to the hard disk drive or to Memory Stick PRO Duo and Memory Stick Duo media. Record for up to an unbelievable 14.5 hours in HD and use the Memory Stick media for transferring video and stills to your PC for editing, emailing or printing when you're finished shooting.
The top-of-its class, the SR12 features a generous 3.2" touch panel XtraFine LCD. The 5.6Mp ClearVid sensor with the BIONZ image processor and Exmor technology provides stunning video and 10.2Mp stills for beautiful shots every time. Face Detection technology ensures that every smiling face will come in crystal clear for memories that record true-to-life with no surprises upon your return home. An HDMI connection via the Bravia Sync provides single-cable transfer of audio and video for playback on Bravia or other compatible HDTVs.
- Hybrid Recording to the 120GB Hard Disk Drive or Memory Stick Media
- Record to the 120GB internal hard disk drive or to Sony's own Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO Duo (sold separately) recording media. Images from the HDD can be transferred in-camera to Memory Stick media for uploading to your PC or compatible Memory Stick device for editing, emailing, or printing.

- The BIONZ processor enables the Face Detection technology on the HDR-UX10 camcorder. This system recognizes up to 8 faces anywhere in a frame automatically adjusting focus, exposure and color for the most natural skin tones in each image while leaving background images unchanged.

- Sony's BIONZ Image Processor uses hardware based Large Scale Integrated (LSI) circuitry to provide the camera with a faster response time and prolong battery life. The BIONZ also removes noise from the image prior to RAW data conversion for the cleanest video possible and handles the Dynamic Range Optimization processing.

- Never worry again about capturing images on bright days or in low-light conditions. The BIONZ processor powers this high-speed processing engine that automatically adjusts the scene for you. In lowlight or backlit settings the Dynamic Range Optimizer brings out detail in shadows resulting in a natural and clear scene.

- Sony makes finding scenes quick and user-friendly with the Film Roll Index 2. Much like the chapters in a book the index helps you find the video scenes you want by previewing the beginning. You also have the option to display scenes at intervals of 3, 6 and 12 seconds or 1 and 5 minutes.
- Face Index 2
- The ingenious Face Index 2 technology lets you find the video scene you want by face. Choose from the faces displayed in the index and the scenes in which that person appears will be selected.
- Photo TV HD Viewing with HDMI Output
- The HDMI output to the Bravia HDTV and other compatible HDTVs lets you view photos with HD accuracy in either standard screen (4:3) or widescreen (16:9). On select Bravia HDTV models your photos will automatically be shown with improved gradation, sharpness and color.
