Purchased the Boom several months ago after researching the web for weeks. Streams internet radio with ease, also works great with my Netgear ReadyNAS Duo. My NAS has my entire audio collection of iTunes and mp3s installed and the Boom plays them all flawlessly. Once you get the software "squeezecenter" installed onto your NAS, which can be challenging, it works great and you WILL NOT have to have your computer on to play your audio. Most people think this is a "computer always on" piece of equipment, it isn't!
The sound that comes from this unit is very good for it size, I have mine located in the master bath which is 50' and 3 walls from the Linksys wireless router and the Boom is still pulling a 80% signal, that's excellent! I'd prefer wired but didn't want to run one that far.
The internet radio really shines! Love picking from stations all around the world. I also use this Boom as an alarm clock in the morning. You set the days and time for it to wake up and you never have to touch it again, nothing like waking up to a Submarine alert whistle! Whew!
Get this unit if you're on the fence, ya won't regret it!

The idea behind this boom box is great, and as long as you are close to the network router, this thing works like a charm. Unfortunately, I bought it for my husband's shop, which is about 75 yards from the router (more or less as the crow flies). It would NOT connect to the router at all, so I bought a network extender. That helped, but this thing works sometimes, sometimes doesn't. My husband isn't very techno-saavy, so when it stops working, it's dead in the water for him. A better piece of equipment for him would be XM radio, which is the next route we are going.

Comments about Logitech Squeezebox Boom Music System:
I was able to connect only after finding a 26-digit code for my 7 year old router - but only to ethernet (lost password for wi-fi) - and an hour on the help line. Sound is powerful enough to be heard all over my huge kitchen, but the speakers aren't great enough not to want an after-market plug in system for listening to classical music.

The product is well made with a nice interface. Only took a few moments to configure and get connected to the network.
I have had other Internet radios and this is one I prefer.

Comments about Logitech Squeezebox Boom Music System:
This product far surpassed my expectations. Tens of thousands of music sources available. Very easy to use after a little exploration. Documentation does not reflect the latest software. The user interface was updated to make it even easier than stated in the documentation. It updated the firmware/OS automatically to the latest version. StereoXL control makes it suitable in many size rooms. Can be connected to a larger stereo amplifier and used as a receiver for parties. My wife thinks I am genius for ordering it. (Got her fooled). I have recommended it to my whole family and many friends.

Small little box with a big audio punch. I like the alarm clock feature. The boombox looks great too. Easy to use and move around. I would only add some sort of a carry handle to the unit instead of having to carry it like a loaf of bread or football. LOL.

Comments about Logitech Squeezebox Boom Music System:
The initial set up of the squeezebox boom is incredibly user friendly. It only took a couple of minutes to get it connected to my wireless network. The sound is good and there seems to be a number of options. However, it does require some research to determine how to link it with online music applications such as pandora. The literature on the site isn't as helpful as I would have liked.

Comments about Logitech Squeezebox Boom Music System:
I use this product in my home with a direct connection to my router, thereby insuring the highest quality sound. It was very simple to setup and it offers great options to control it, including the Squeezebox Remote, which is a software option you can put on your home computer. I have compliments for the aesthetics- it has a very slim form factor with big clear sound, and a nice low gloss appearance that sits neatly without standing out too much.
The next edition of Squeezebox should package an additional option for optical output to be integrated with existing high end home stereos. I'd also recommend a possible HDMI out connection- this could be a conduit to some more media sources for the center of the entertainment center...

You can't go wrong with the Squeezebox Boom! I spent a great deal of time researching internet radios and am so happy to have decided upon this one. It has great sound and portability. You will definitely make use of the remote! The only problem will be deciding what to listen to from the thousands of choices in streaming content. Listening to radio, podcasts or even streaming songs from your own music library on your computer; you can place the Squeezebox anywhere within the range of your wifi signal and have it all at your fingertips.

Comments about Logitech Squeezebox Boom Music System:
Identifying this as a radio doesn't do it justice but it is a tabletop device that is receiving wireless transmission of audio signals. You can duplicate what the Squeezebox Boom does with a computer, amplifier, and speakers but certainly not as simply and elegantly. You can place this box anywhere in the house and it will blend in nicely. I live in a suburban area too far away from the city to clearly receive local radio stations without severe noise interference. The Squeezebox Boom can receive any radio station in the world that is streaming their signal through the internet. In my area that is every local station, many of which I cannot even tune into with my Tivoli table radio which is sitting in the most opportune signal spot in the house. The ability to access music services and my own collection of FLAC music files is awesome. It is well built, solid, and delivers excellent sound quality. I highly recommend it and am considering purchasing one for another room.

Comments about Logitech Squeezebox Boom Music System:
Product is very symple and ease to use. Please have handy your wireless security code in case you have a protected network. Sound is very good, good bass, streaming is fast and there are a lot of commercial free listening stations.
I am still struggling with the preset buttoms. Once you preset one station you will have difficulties marking a new one. I am very satisfied and I do recommend the product. B&H, you did well again!
