The Tenba Shootout Sling Bag, Medium (Black) is a water-resistant ripstop nylon bag that can be converted from a quick-draw shooting bag to a long lens bag. It has movable padded divider walls within the bag that allow the "quick-draw" compartment to be fitted precisely to the main camera/lens combination, and also create additional spaces for extra bodies, lenses and accessories. These walls can be completely removed, turning the sling into a vertically-oriented long lens bag. In this configuration the camera with lens is loaded straight down through the bag via the large top door. This bag can carry 1-2 digital SLR camera bodies with 3-4 lenses, flash and accessories or a digital SLR camera with long lens up to 400mm 2.8 attached.
The sling bag is carried on the back with a single, contoured padded cross-chest strap. This allows it to be swung around in front of the photographer, providing access to a camera with mounted lens, for fast shooting right out of the bag. It has a full-access back panel that can be opened to fully expose the interior for setup, loading and cleaning. The bag uses weather-sealed YKK zippers on all outside openings.

This is my walk-around bag since the contents are very easily accessed on the fly. I had to reorganize the interior a bit to set it up how I wanted it, but the end result was well worth it. The zippers can get a bit stuck but not nearly as bad as some reviews make it sound. It's a good thing if you're worried about anyone trying to sneak open a zipper to steal something. When the bag is fully laden, then it can get a bit heavy for just one shoulder, but the idea of this bag is to be minimalist anyway. My biggest complaint is the relative uselessness of the tripod holder. It's clearly meant for a monopod though so I don't hit it too hard for that.
Hidden ancillary benefit, keep the bag turned in front of you and use it as a table to help lens swapping. You can also prop your elbows on the bag and firmly steady your camera. Just lean against the wall then and you've almost become a human tripod. You can also stow away the smaller strap in a tiny hidden pocket at the base of the strap where it meets the bag.

Good quality bag with plenty of room for all kinds of gear. Zippers are bit difficult, but worth the effort as they appear be water repellant. However, the shoulder strap is very uncomfortable. The curvature is designed for a standard size shoulder. If you are larger or smaller, it cuts into you. Could have used a lot more padding. Not sure if I will use it as much as I had intended.

Comments about Tenba Shootout Sling Bag, Medium (Black):
I bought this bag to hold my Canon T2i and two other lenses. After an hour messing around with the adjustable compartment dividers, I finally got everything to fit in a satisfactory position. It feels durable and seems like it is made out of materials that will last. I am a large guy and it feels a little snug but it is still fairly comfortable to have on. The zippers are kind of hard to open and close; but with the added weather protection the zippers have, it is understandable and not a big deal. I got the all black one, and I think it looks cool and can't wait to field test it. I can tell right now, that the best thing about a sling bag is that it doesn't feel like a purse... You get what you want out of it, and then you get it out of your way. So far I think it's great.

The bag is good for walking/shooting versus using it for carrying equipment on airplanes. It would be nice if it could slide over a suitcase handle but that is for my other camera bag.

Returned mine. Very nice bag with nice build and design but when I got some gear in it (1 body + 4 lenses + flash) and put it on it was uncomfortable as could be. Had to take it off after about 20 minutes. I am a big guy at 6 feet and 200 lbs. so I have not problem lugging gear but this pulled on my shoulder in a very irritating way. [...]

I did a ton of research before I purchased this bag, but was still a little hesitant that it wasn't going to fit all my gear..... I'm a totally pleased with how much it holds. I fit: 2 SLR's, 4 lenses, a Fong Ball, light meter, filter case, 8 pack of batteries, plenty of memory cards and flash bracket with room to spare
The waterproof slip on shell is great. Access to the bag is a snap with the bag on and off. The front pouch on the strap is too small for my cell phone but holds an 8 pack of AA batteries, lens cloth and a few car keys just fine. The padded back and strap are really comfy and the tripod holder straps on the side of the bag are really versatile. I store my flash bracket in the case there and it fits great!
I am totally thrilled with this bag and would recommend it a million times over.... construction seems to be really, really sturdy too!

I gutted the back out for a Canon with a Sigma 120-300. It filled the bag. I did have room also for a 2X converter, wide angle zoom and a 580 EXII Flash. I use this bag for a "grab" bag when I gotta go in a hurry. It has the essentials and is very funtional. It has waterproof zippers and opens from the back or the top. Extra pockets give plenty of room of room for storage and the large shoulder pad rests comfortably on the shoulder. Nice, comfortable bag.

This bag is great. It fits every piece of equipment I own (2 Cameras, 4 lenses, cables, light meter, memory cards, film, tripod). The weight is well dispersed. The only bad thing is that the zippers get stuck sometimes.

Well built with quality materials and protects my equipment from the elements. Zippers are sometimes a pain since they don't easily slide as they get stuck on the protective rain stripping. Also, it is hard to access other equipment when you have the camera in the side-access position since it requires you to open up the back-flap.

I use it like a back pack. How else would I use it?
Its great because its light, small yet hold a lot! its water resistant, the zipers are weather proof, and prevent leaks inside the bag, the compartments are very adjustable and its the only bag I know of that can hold two cameras a few lenses and a telephoto lens attached to the camera. Its also one of the most stylish bags on the market. Cant go wrong with this one.

This bag will be for travel and to keep it light. I have the 5d Mark II with the 70-200 F4 Lens and have adjusted all the compartments to fit my bod and lens length to fit from the top. I have side access to my 24-70 F2.8 Lens so this bag is going to be great. Construction of the bag is strong and looks great. I have had lowepro in the past but this bag is made very well.

I love this bag and I love this company. The bag is amazingly comfortable. I take it on all day photo shoots carrying a long 400 f/5.6 attached to the 5D, a wide angle 16-35, and various other accessories[...]I also own the medium sized Tenba Messenger bag. I like it a lot but wish I had bought the larger version.[...]Linda K - PBG, Florida

I bought this bag to carry my 7D, 50mm, 10-22, and 70-200 2.8 lens. This bag does it with ease. I love the sturdy build and all the different internal padding options at my disposal. Even fully packed it feels good on my back and everything is quickly accessible. The fact that I can store my 70-200 while attached to my 7D is great.
