The Casio Exilim EX-Z85 Digital Camera provides 9.1 megapixels of resolution with a 3x optical zoom that is equal to 38- 114mm in 35mm terms and incorporates the cutting-edge Exilim Engine 2.0 image processing module - all in a camera that exhibits an excellent balance of superior functionality and stylish, compact design that is incredibly slim. The camera also features a blur reduction function that uses motion analysis technology, an auto-tracking AF system, and face detection technology along with the unique Face Recognition function. There is also a Rapid Flash function, which enables three consecutive high speed flash photos in only one second, allowing you to completely capture the moment without losing precious seconds between shots.
The Exilim EX-Z85 Digital Camera includes the unique YouTube Capture mode that records video clips in the web and iPod-friendly H.264 file format and the AAC audio codec, along with bundled software to provide ideal settings for recording, storing and uploading video. Furthermore, Casio has also included an exclusive software application that makes it seamless to upload movies to YouTube, and will also allow users to upload multiple videos at once, making it incredibly easy to share original content online.
- Ultra-slim Design
- The Exilim EX-Z85 has an incredibly slim design (0.8" thick), and it's so flat that it fits comfortably in any pocket - so whether you use it for work, at a party or while traveling, this little camera can always be right there with you, ready for action. The stainless steel housing gives the camera a unique appearance, while also providing superb durability - so you can use it anywhere and anytime.
- 9.1 Megapixel Resolution
- The CCD Image sensor of the Exilim EX-Z85 supplies a rich 9.1 million pixels of full color brilliance and detail. Such high resolution photos give you the advantage that you can print them out in excellent quality or edit them on the computer. This means that enlargement of details and poster size photos are possible.
- 3x Optical Zoom Lens
- Though the EX-Z85 is as slim as your little finger, yet it features a 3x optical zoom lens so you can capture the details of your scene or get a tight close up.
- 2.6" Wide-Screen Display
- The 2.6-inch (6.6cm) wide-screen TFT color display of the EX-Z85 is so large and wide that it takes up almost the entire rear side of the camera, and provides a clear view of your images and video clips.
- Exilim Engine 2.0
- The extremely powerful Exilim Engine 2.0 combines multiple components in a compact space, provides for fast camera operation, and saves energy. The image processor also has sufficient capacity for the Advanced Auto Tracking AF function, hue adjustment to optimize dark areas, targeted noise elimination in critical color areas and quicker image processing. The Processor also drives the Anti Shake DSP feature to ensure that your photographs are sharp and clear, even if you are shooting from a car or boat.
- Intuitive Interface
- The EX-Z85 can easily be operated with just one hand (Use your thumb to navigate the menus and your index finger for the release button and zoom) plus the arrangement of the operation panel on the display is particularly clear and enables the user to move quickly between the various adjustment features. Users can also customize many of the cameras controls to have quick access to favorite features and functions, and users can choose from six different colors as the color for the menu screens.
- Best Shot Scene Modes
- The cameras Best Shot scene modes enable selection of the appropriate camera setting for still photos via an easy to understand sample image menu, so you'll be able to take beautiful pictures, regardless of the shooting situation or your particular photography expertise. Simply select the sample scene that resembles the type of image you are trying to record and the camera is configured automatically with the applicable recording mode, Auto Focus setting, and more.
- Face Detection and Face Recognition with Auto-tracking AF
- The auto-tracking AF system uses motion analysis technology to maintain both sharp focus and correct exposure for a human face, and the combination of face detection technology and the auto-tracking AF system ensures that, once the focus locks on to a person's face, it will stay sharp and maintain the right exposure, even if the person moves; thereby making it much easier to capture beautiful portraits. The Face Recognition function can save up to 6 faces via a biometric mask. The feature then drives the camera to focus primarily on faces which have been saved previously in the family register, and enables you to set "preferences" for certain people when taking a photograph at family celebrations.
- Auto Shutter Function
- Using blur detection technology, the EX-Z85 can be set to automatically take a photo the instant that camera and/or subject movement stops, even without the need to push the shutter button. This reduces photo blur caused by the movement involved in pressing the shutter. In addition, the Smile Detection Auto Shutter function ensures that you will never again miss that smile when taking photos. Press the release button as soon as you have the faces in the frame, and the photo will then be taken, fully automatically, once the subjects are smiling. There is also a self-portrait shutter mode that takes a shot the moment the user's face fills the frame.
- Quick Responsiveness
- Once powered on, the camera is ready to take pictures in approximately 1 second, and after the shutter is snapped, pictures are taken almost instantly, with only 0.008 second release time lag. The "Direct On" buttons allow quick startup of both shooting and viewing modes, and the camera also has High-speed image viewing at approximately 0.1 seconds intervals.
- Powerful Fast Flash
- The Built-in flash has a "Rapid Flash" feature that enables three consecutive flash photos in one second, while the "Soft Flash" function reduces flash brightness when taking close-up flash photos. Furthermore, the "Flash Assist" mode compensates for poorly illuminated areas of the shot.
- Wide Format Movie Mode
- The EX-Z85 is able to Record movies with sound at broadcast quality using the MPEG-4 H.264 standard that provides an increased compression ratio allowing users to record longer clips without having to sacrifice the quality of their movies, and can continue recording as long as there is memory available. Plus, the camera utilizes the AAC audio codec that is compatible with the Apple iPod and other mobile devices. The camera can also produce an audio snapshot (with audio recorded at the same time as the image or added later), and is equipped with a Voice Recorder feature.
- YouTube Capture Mode
- The YouTube capture mode records in next-generation MPEG-4 H.264 high quality video format, and an exclusive software application is included that makes it seamless to upload movies to YouTube in as few as two steps. This technology will also allow users to upload multiple videos at once, making it easier than ever before to share original content online. In addition the camera also includes an eBay Best Shot Mode that takes photos at a size that is image optimized for display on eBay, and for ease of use, the eBay photos are stored in a special eBay directory.
- Focus Frames
- In addition to the usual rectangular focus frame that is indicated on the LCD monitor, users can choose from frame designs featuring a heart shape or a butterfly, for example. When the scene is properly focused, a clear heart shape is displayed, and when the scene is out of focus the heart shape breaks up. This makes it easy to see when the picture is in focus, and users will enjoy it, too.
- Built-in and Expandable Memory
- The EX-Z85 has 41.2MB of internal memory so you can start shooting immediately. The storage capacity can also be greatly expanded with a Secure Digital (SD), Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) or MultiMediaCard (MMC), so you can save large numbers of photos and record movies in excess of an hour or more in duration.
- Super-Life Battery
- The EX-Z85 is extremely efficient in its power usage and includes a high capacity NP-60 Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery, which provides so much power, that the camera is ready for use at that decisive moment and takes up to 240 shots on a full charge.
- Direct Print Capable
- The EX-Z85 supports PictBridge Direct printing so you can print out beautiful images with out the need of a computer. Just connect the camera to a PictBrige compatible printer and print your favorite pictures the way you want them - it is that easy.
