These are very comfortable, if not right off when the room temperature is low (then they feel cold for a moment).

I found the best way to get them on was to grab the actual lip that needs to be pulled over the edge of headphone, rather than the whole pad; then it was very easy.

I purchased these to replace the stock leather (maybe fake leather) ear pads on the M-Audio Q40s. I like the Q40s quite a bit but the ear pads were too shallow for my ears. These gel pads are much deeper, very comfortable, and make my black head phones look like an oreo....

These were not bad to install on the Q40. They improved isolation, comfort, and bass response. I don't notice them getting too hot until I take them off after a prolonged use and notice that my ears are sweaty.

I previously had the nice velour earpads for my Beyerdynamics, but since I'm using them mainly for DJing, they absorbed sweat into the foam. A year later, they smelled pretty gnarly. These almost as comfy, better at sound isolation, and don't absorb sweat. Only complaint is that they were a bit difficult to install, a bit like replacing a bike.. The directions, translated from German, were no help: something like "pull off old earpads. Put new earpads on."

In all I've found this product to be superb for my DT770. It is extremely comfortable, isolates better than the stock pad, and I'm hearing sounds I've never heard before. It definitely feels like the pads muffle the sound less than the stock ear pads, which is fantastic! My only complaints would be the look, cost, and difficulty of getting them on the headphones, otherwise this is a near perfect pair of ear-pads.

Overall, if you have the cash this is a must have improvement for your headphones. Great comfort, a very ugly but unique look, and improved sound.

All-in-all very worth it.

Easy installed it to Beyerdybamic 990
It's not working for sure. It's making huge Echo.
So I make couple hundreds small holes around gel pads, inside, outside, backside then Echo is gone (80%).
With out crazy upgrade i think it's hard to use it on 990.

On my DT770 Pro's, I've had the opportunity to try the original velour silver pads, jmoney lambskin pads, beyer leather pads, and these beyer gel pads. The gel's are the fugliest of the lot, however, their isolation, comfort, and sonic effect surpasses all other pads I've tried. A few people over at head-fi forums even prefer the oreo look!

The only (minor) con is that over the 3 years that I've owned a pair of these gel pads, there has been discoloration in the foam. The once bright paper white is now a light vanilla. It's consistent, not splotchy, so they're still quite presentable.

As for installation, I found it's easier to get these pads on if you heat them up a bit with body heat, invert the lip, place the pad on the headphone, and carefully roll the lip back over.

Finally, these gel pads fit a number of other headphones as well, such as the AKG K271 MKII, Denon AH-D2000, AH D5000, and AH-D7000. In fact, I've just ordered a pair for my recent AH-D7000 aquisiton.

Please keep in mind that the black version of these gel pads may have a substantially different feel/texture, according to impressions and reviews that I've read. I personally have not tried the black gel pads and will not provide an opinion on them.

I used these ear cushions for about a week now and I love them. These ear cushions are well worth the upgrade imo. Here's a break down of my pros and cons:

Pros
- Isolation is way better than the stock velour pads.
- The bass response is even stronger (DT 770's are already known to be bass heavy).
- They are super comfy because the clamping pressure is evenly distributed, making them feel light on your head.
- The mids and the highs are greatly improved, allowing for a overall better sound quality.
- The sound is definitely more detailed than with the stock velour pads.
- Even though it'd seem so, my ears don't get sweaty even after using them for 2 hours straight.

Cons
- They were a little hard to put on my headphones.
