The 3-Year AppleCare for MacBook, MacBook Air, & 13" MacBook Pro from Apple gives you peace of mind by extending your coverage for three (3) years of both telephone support and service coverage. This provides you with expert assistance, global repair coverage for your MacBook, MacBook Air, & 13" MacBook Pro, web-based resources and diagnostic tools.
AppleCare can be purchased at any time within your first year of Mac ownership. It must be registered with Apple prior to the expiration of the system's factory warranty.
AppleCare can only be purchased by customers residing in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, the United States, and the United Kingdom. This is my second MacBook and the second time I've bought the protection plan. Let's talk protection plan first. I generally don't believe in buying them. If you've done your homework, you should be buying a reliable product in the first place. But a laptop is different. It's an expensive piece of equipment that you are going to carry about, that's going to fall off the bed, that you might sit on, that the dog might drool on, well you get my point. I have to say that on the couple of times I did call Apple, they played the "call Bellsouth" game with me instead of not worrying about whose equipment was causing the problem and just trying to help me. Apple definitely has an attitude problem in my opinion. They act like they are doing you the biggest favor in the world to answer your questions that you paid for. I give the customer service a C.
As for the MacBook Air I have to say I was amazed. I thought I was replacing my dead MacBook with the same model. For the same money, Mac is giving you a bigger screen and more power. A real geek is not going to think this is a "pro" computer, but it has every bell and whistle I'll ever need and more. One complaint: the "Dashboard" that has the calculator, weather, etc. used to come up when you hit F12. Now you have to hit the dashboard icon, and two other buttons to see the same info. Not a good change. Also the size of the item on the screen changes during use and I haven't figured out why. Once safari just blinked out on me altogether. I don't know if these problems will continue or if they are temporary. They are another reason I didn't give a full five stars. But I'm enjoying the lovely screen and the improved sound.

I guess the main reason I bought it was for peace of mind and because I considered the price to be pretty good [$] compared to other places [...] which had the plan for around $200 at the time I purchased it. I have not used the protection plan up until now, since I have only had the computer for about a month...so I can't really comment on the service they provide. I guess the reason I gave it a 3 is b/c I wished they would provide additional coverage for accidental damage or water spills.

I've only had one Mac fail in over twenty years of owning Apple stuff. That failure was massive, however. AppleCare took care of all the repairs, which involved replacing just about everything that could be replaced in an iMac, including internal wire harnesses. My out-of-pocket; ZIP, nada, nothing. I certainly would not purchase a portable computer (like my new MacBook Air) without AppleCare. B&H also bundled AppleCare with the MBA at a really attractive price. It immediately presented itself as a no-brainer.

Pretty cut and dry, this warranty extends your Macbook 13" or Macbook Air 13" to three years along with three years of phone support, which I have always found exceptional when dealing with Apple over the phone. Note the warranty is three years from date of purchase, it is not three years after the standard 1 year warranty runs out.

This is the only warranty plan I ever spend money on. Being able to call and get help, and knowing they will fix things for 3 years is totally worth it. The only down side is that sometimes you get stuck with a rep who is a real dud, and you have to get off the phone with them and call back. I've never had two bad ones in a row though...

Apple computers are built exceptionally well with fine-lined details and amazing durability - that is when you know what you have and how to take care of it. Unfortunately, there's no telling what life might throw at you or your mac, so AppleCare really is a must have 2 year extension to Apple's already excellent 1 year warranty. I'm really hoping Apple will someday automatically include Applecare with every Apple product, at a fraction of the price :)

B&H has one of the best prices available anywhere for a full, legitimate version of this AppleCare Warranty.
Their online site makes it easy to locate and order any of the appleCare Warranties - and B&H carries them all. The warranty was delivered very quickly, and was the new, sealed version which was readily accepted by Apple.

AppleCare is AppleCare, regardless of where you buy it from. But if you want to buy a MacBook Air and you want the 3-Year Apple Care along with the computer, there is nowhere else but B&H that offers a better deal. Apple charges way too much for AppleCare. Bundled it with my MacBook Air purchase and saved a ton of money. It was even a better deal than [@]'s total price. Not to mention that you get a copy of Parallels desktop for free. I'll be sure to check out B&H the next time I am looking for electronics.

I had this plan with my previous laptop, a MacBook Notebook. With the Careplan, I would take my computer in and would get excellent service, quickly. We mostly live overseas, and the Mac Store overseas helped us, no questions asked. It is important to us to have this service in both countries. My battery charger went out twice (probably due to the fluctuation and surges of electrical current; and they replaced it, no problems.

I got this bundled with my new mbp for half price, so it came out to be [$]. This is by far the best deal you can find on 3year apple insurance. I can rest assured that if anything goes wrong, I can just take it to the nearest apple store. I know over time my battery will lose its charge, and the adaptor cord tends to fray, so buying those alone without insurance would probably exceed the price of applecare. WELL WORTH IT

This is a pretty straightforward product. You receive a serial number in a box, then go online to register it.
The last Macbook I had (white 2007 Macbook), I purchased AppleCare and it more than paid for itself. Hard drives fail, things go wrong with computers, it's nice to have the peace of mind that I won't have to shell out $1000+ for a new MacBook if this one fails....
Apple provides pretty good customer service and has always repaired my Macbooks promptly. I think this is the only product for which I buy an extended warranty.
