Great accessory for the GoPro, however, I found that the bottom was too "slick".
No matter how tight I cranked the mount down, the camera could easily be turned left or right. To solve this, I bought some anti-skid tape (sandpaper with tape on the back) and placed a piece on the bottom of the mount.

If you want to use the Hero with 'standard' photography support hardware this is what you need.
The environmental enclosure for the Hero is beautifully engineered to protect the camera and with mounting adapters the thing can be placed almost anywhere except on a tripod, boom or other standard studio hardware. This solves those problems.
I would actually suggest buying extra mounts and an assortment of hardware for the camera- I think they have a 'variety pack'; I just bought a couple of different kits. The mounts are all interchangeable and the more I've used this camera the more places I want to mount it.

Unless all you do is surf and snowboard, this is a required purchase. GoPro desperately needs to include this in the base package. Sticky mounts are nice, but if you are being creative with your shots, it is in your best interest to pick up a couple of these.

The fact that GoPro charges you almost eight bucks for this little piece is beyond me. In every kit they include pieces most folks will NEVER use, but they conveniently leave this piece out, making it a "must buy". Lame.The piece itself is great, it's what you need to do the job, making the GoPro Hero and Hero 2 mountable on any standard 1/4:20 mount.A great addition to anybody's kit.
