Comments about Crucial Technology 4GB (2x2GB) SO-DIMM Memory Upgrade Kit for Notebook:
Upgrading my Macbook from Snow Leopard to Lion was, overall, an improvement. But it needed more memory. Sort of like going from Windows XP to Windows 7. You need more memory to support the features.

This is inexpensive yet good ram for my late 2009 white macbook. Its now running with Lion and it runs really smoothly, even when photo editing on gimp and doing heavy duty web browsing

Comments about Crucial Technology 4GB (2x2GB) SO-DIMM Memory Upgrade Kit for Notebook:
I upgraded my Macbook from 2GB to 4GB memory. Before the upgrade, I would experience my Mac bogging down when I had multiple application opened at once. I primarily use my Macbook for college work, photo editing, and video editing. When I would have all the applications opened plus surfing the internet, things got slow. In addition to all this, I needed to run Windows on Parallels Desktop virtual machine for my college classes. After the upgrade everything ran smoother with no glitches. I'm very pleased with the results!

Comments about Crucial Technology 4GB (2x2GB) SO-DIMM Memory Upgrade Kit for Notebook:
I'm an IT professional/programmer and purchased this memory kit to upgrade the RAM capacity of my mid-2010 white Macbook. The standard model of this computer carries only 2 GB, and it's physically installed as a matched pair (occupying both available RAM slots), so you must replace all of the existing RAM in order to upgrade the computer's capacity. I've long used Crucial/Micron memory modules in my desktop PC builds, which gave me a bit of extra confidence in choosing this particular product for my laptop.
Apple's hardware is now Intel based, but does tend to have more proprietary characteristics than other manufacturers, so third party hardware upgrades (including--and perhaps especially--memory) can occasionally be troublesome. I'm pleased to report that this isn't the case with this memory kit, and both the physical install and post-install operation have gone smoothly. If my experiences are any indication, this kit should work nicely in any late 2009 or mid 2010 Macbook at a significantly lower price point than the officially sanctioned Apple upgrade.
Because it does precisely what it's supposed to do (I can actually run virtual machines/Parallels now), and hasn't given me any trouble whatsoever, I'm giving it the best possible rating.

It's RAM...
Not particularly exciting but it fit my iMac and was less than half the cost of memory from Apple. There were no installation instructions with the kit but I think Crucial has instruction on their site.

Comments about Crucial Technology 4GB (2x2GB) SO-DIMM Memory Upgrade Kit for Notebook:
When you find out Apple Brand memory sells for more than double the price, you can really appreciate what you get here for a fraction of it. A snap to install and easy on the wallet, this memory has my 2009 iMac running great, and has performed as expected. Being Apple didn't equip my iMac with their claimed to be Apple blue board memory, why should I have considered it for an upgrade? My iMac came factory equipped with Samsung memory, another brand I had considered before physically performing the upgrade and discovering this. There are only a handful of semiconductor manufacturers in the world with the engineering expertise to make DRAM chips. The labels you see on these memory modules are from the company which assembled them by combining the DRAM chip with the printed circuit board. Top semiconductor manufacturers include Samsung, Micron, Hynix, and Elpida. Crucial is the known consumer brand for Micron, a reputable DRAM chip developer, so you know you're getting a good product here. I recommend it highly.
