The Benro C-269M8 Travel Angel Carbon Fiber Tripod with B-1 Ballhead is a sturdy, high-quality tripod that uses 8-layer, 2nd generation carbon fiber technology for its leg construction. This 8x tubing is 60% stronger overall than conventional carbon fiber tripods. In addition, magnesium is used for die-cast parts. Despite its lower weight, magnesium is more rigid than aluminum, and has the same strength per volume.
Travel Angel tripods are easy-to-carry so you'll want them with you at all times. Travel Angel's unique 180 degree foldover design allows them to be folded into a compact package that can easily fit into backpacks or luggage. However, when you need quick setup, excellent maximum height and a rigid, stable support, Benro Travel Angels are impressive performers.
Travel Angel tripods feature individual leg angle adjustments, anti-rotation leg design, a reversible center column with spring loaded weight hook, anti dust and moisture rubber leg lock grips.

Comments about Benro C-269M8 Travel Angel Carbon Fiber Tripod with B-1 Ballhead:
Very sturdy tripod and seems well built. I had read many reviews comparing this tripod to a Gitzo and even Gitzo owners felt that it was a great tripod. I love the ball head too. It handles more weight than I will probably ever need it to.

Tripod fits nicely into my standard carry-on luggage. Love the way it folds and the lightness of the carbon tripod. Only downside is that I find that I sometimes struggle with the rotating locks on the legs.

Comments about Benro C-269M8 Travel Angel Carbon Fiber Tripod with B-1 Ballhead:
I needed a compact tripod that I would actually bring with me when traveling to a location. It is light, stable and folds into a small package.
The only weakness I've found is the screw locks on the legs sometimes require hard tightening to hold the legs in there extended position.

Comments about Benro C-269M8 Travel Angel Carbon Fiber Tripod with B-1 Ballhead:
Great tripod. At first I thought they sent the wrong one because it was so small. Pleasently supprised. Easy to set up and the B-1 was already
attached. Ball head has excellent movement. Tightens up easily. The strap for the case is tucked away inside a zippered compartment along with directions for both tripod and ball head.
Well pleased with both.

Comments about Benro C-269M8 Travel Angel Carbon Fiber Tripod with B-1 Ballhead:
This is a wonderful tripod, stable, strong and very well made. Quality through and through and it folds small enough to put into a back pack or hand carry on the plane. It's a little heavy, but still very managable.
The B-1 head is a dream. Easy to control, very solid and able to hold my large lenses without creeping. Love it.
The padded tripod bag that comes with it is well made also, very substantial.
Overall this is a great value for a high quality product, costs a lot less then the name brand tripods/heads. After hesitating for months, I'm really happy I finally made the commitment to purchase. No regrets. Highly recommended.

Comments about Benro C-269M8 Travel Angel Carbon Fiber Tripod with B-1 Ballhead:
I've only used this tripod a couple of times, but I really like the way it's so easy to carry compared to my old Bogen 3220. It's smaller, lighter, and comes with a nice nylon carrying case. The ball head takes a little getting used to, but it moves smoothly and locks tight. So far, the only negative I've found was the price, but it really needs to be seen as an investment with a hopefully long life.

Comments about Benro C-269M8 Travel Angel Carbon Fiber Tripod with B-1 Ballhead:
After researching several tripods on the web and in person the C-269M8 emerged as my clear favorite. Its compactness and relative lightness combined with its sturdiness suit my needs perfectly. I use a Canon EOS 7D, and my heaviest lens right now is the Sigma 24-70, though I will soon be purchasing a 70-200, and am very confident this tripod and the B1 head will have no trouble supporting it. For me, the extra cost for carbon over aluminum is worth it for the half pound of weight difference, and the lack of flex in the carbon compared to the aluminum. I travel quite a bit with my equipment, and having what amounts to a full sized tripod in such a small package is ideal. I have been doing some HDR work, and the Travel Angel makes using a tripod on the go almost convenient. I have also used it for some studio work, and am satisfied with it in this context. I highly recommend this tripod.

Comments about Benro C-269M8 Travel Angel Carbon Fiber Tripod with B-1 Ballhead:
I use this tripod for nature photography, primarily bird photos. The tripod is easy for me to carry as advertised. The carrying case that comes with the tripod is very nice and excellent for travel.
The tripod itself seems to be well crafted.
I am more accustomed to using tripods with clip locks than the twisting locks. So that is taking me a little time but otherwise no complaints.

Pros: Good value (vs. Gitzo), very light and very easy to use. Very Sturdy. The reverse fold fit it into the custom carrying bag that works very well when travel.
Cons: The locks are not uniformly weighted. Some joints are blistering heavy, while some are very nice. There are minor paint chip and minor blemishes on the surfaces.
The ball-head it excellent.

With airline weight restrictions increasing it now becomes more and more important to streamline my kit. The carbon fiber Travel Angel helps shave a few very valuable pounds of my weight and allows me to replace it with an extra lens or two. The tripod is sturdy and has no problem handling my 5D Mark II with all my lenses including the Canon EF 600mm. Great buy, well recommended.

Comments about Benro C-269M8 Travel Angel Carbon Fiber Tripod with B-1 Ballhead:
I just returned from a 10 day trip out to the west coast. I packed this tripod in my backpack and it fit perfectly. It is lightweight, easy to set up and very high quality. The B-1 ballhead that was included worked very well with my D80 + battery grip + Nikkor 18-200 lense, it locked my rig down tight. Dont be put off by the 5-section pod, as its easy to open and the 5th section is very stable, and plus it makes the pod more compact when folded. I used this set up several times in very high winds at the beach and had no worries at all. This is great value if you are considering the Gitzo Traveler. Also comes with a nice padded case. One wish.. a bubble level on the ballhead.

Comments about Benro C-269M8 Travel Angel Carbon Fiber Tripod with B-1 Ballhead:
I had been looking for a long time for a tripod. I wanted one light and compact enough that I could carry backpacking but still be sturdy enough for all types of everyday use. I also didn't want to spend a fortune. Basically, I knew I wanted a Gitzo Mountaineer with a premium ballhead that had Arca-Swiss compatible plates. Of course I couldn't afford that and thus started looking at all of the Gitzo clones. After considerable research I went with the Travel Angel.
The tripod is very nice. I have never used a Gitzo, so I can't really compare, but this thing is nice. It is light and sturdy. It is highly compact when folded all the way up. Of course to get that compactness it does have five leg sections, which do take a bit longer to extend and collapse than a three or four section tripod would. It really isn't too bad though, because you can unlock all four locks on each leg with one twist prior to extending and likewise lock all four back when collapsing. I suppose the extra leg sections do make it somewhat more flimsy than those with less sections, but I have noticed no issues with the gear that I use (semi-pro body with 200mm lens). As a note, this tripod does accept spiked feet but it doesn't come with them. They have to be ordered seperately from the importers parts dept.
The ball head does have seperate lock, tensioning, and panning adjustments. It works quite well. It may not be as creamy smooth as a top dollar ball head, but it works quite well once you break it in. It also has an Arca-Swiss style quick release that is rock solid without a single worry of it coming loose. On the downside the ball head does not point up or down very far. I usually have to kick it over into the right-angle notch to be able to point up or down. This may be common to all ball-heads though, I'm not really sure.
Only time will tell, but so far I am quite happy with this purchase.

Comments about Benro C-269M8 Travel Angel Carbon Fiber Tripod with B-1 Ballhead:
This tripod is solid enough for my 500 mm and Wimberly head, but also very light and short enough for hikes and international travel. The head that comes with it is suitable for lenses used when travelling, and the tripod itself is compact and light enough to take along on every trip made.
The only drawback it may have for some users is that the reversible center column can be a hassel to put back together again, especially when time is limited. Myself, I have never used that sort of feature over the last 40 years, even though I had the feature available!
