If you own one of the members of the new Mac laptop lineup, this display is a must have. Superthin, and equally attractive from back or front side view. As an owner of a previous generation 23" Cinema HD Display, the two are comparable, but with even greater contrast, sharpness and brightness. But it's what I call "the octopus" that sets this display apart. The separate cable with 3 connectors, USB, MagSafe power and Mini DisplayPort make hooking and unhooking your laptop a breeze, while minimizing desktop clutter. And did I mention it's thin?

While the display itself is great quality, I was hoping that it would be a lot more useful to me. I have a black macbook that is only a few years old, and needed to attach an external monitor with accurate color. The first problem that I ran into was that the display ports were incompatible. Then, after I bought an expensive 3rd party adapter (because Apple doesn't make their own adapter to solve this problem), it turned out that the display was stuck on 100% brightness. I searched online help forums and this seems to be a common problem with no solution. After much frustration, I ended up returning the monitor, the adapter, and buying an imac. Words of advice, this is a high quality display, but make sure that you do your research and double, triple check compatibility with your computer before you make this purchase.

Comments about Apple 24" LED Cinema Display:
Too bad Apple isn't making this one anymore. The bigger monitor seems like it might be nice, but the huge jump in cost is less than awesome.
This monitor is bright and clear and a great size.
Cost wise...well you know, it's Apple.

Comments about Apple 24" LED Cinema Display:
My Apple Cinema 24" LED purchased July 15, 2009 has been having display problems for about 9 months, but I am busy and the work around was to unplug it and when plugged back in it worked. I though I has a software "Sleep" issue and planned to work on the problem when I had time. 3 days ago it stopped working completely. Today I finally had time to call the Apple Couldn't Care Less department. My display was out of warranty by 38 days. Since I purchased it after I purchased 2 Mac Book Pros they could not include it on my Apple Couldn't Care Less Plans. If you Google this monitor, you will find a great many people have this same problem. Apple has some quality control issues with this display, but they will not fix it due to the technicality of being 38 days out of warranty.

Use this monitor for my MacBook Pro Unibody. It's great in that it charges/powers my laptop as well as provides a USB hub for my accessories. Display provides beautiful and sharp images. The only problem is that it is expensive.

I use it with my new 15" macbook pro, with my macbook closed and an external keyboard and mouse. Beautiful display.

I have owned Apple hardware since 1988 and have always been a proponent of their products. The fact that this monitor can not hook up with anything other than the newest laptop [AND there is no adapter that can be purchased to make it work] shows that Apple might be headed towards 'mainstream'! Comments about Apple 24" LED Cinema Display:
Purchased for one of my superiors to suppliment his older 23" Cinema display that is connected to his Macbook 17" pro. Had some problems at first since this is being connected to a Kingston display port adapter with getting the monitor to turn on but figured out that it was a USB power problem; a powered USB hub took care of that. Surface is very glossy; very reflective but once the screen comes on it is not that noticeable. Picture is superb; super bright (melt your retinas so be ready to turn it down). Did not test out the camera or speakers but I suspect Apple quality. Works great from the Display Port adapter on 10.5; just make sure you update to the latest Display Port driver from the web; the older ones are very very sluggish. Get a can of good LCD cleaner because the black bezel shows dust off quite well (along with any brush of skin / fingerprints)

We use the 24" LED Cinema Display by Apple as a docking station for our Note book Pro which we also purchased from B&H. It is great for viewing Digital pictures.

[$] for a glass-front monitor with a webcam and good speakers? It's a no-brainer!!! Yes, like most Apple products, it is not the cheapest out there, but you get what you pay for! The glass makes the screen VERY easy to clean, and you don't have to worry about cracking or damaging the LCD! The iSight and speakers are nice to have as well. The image is fabulous!!! Very satisfied with this purchase!

Comments about Apple 24" LED Cinema Display:
Very noticeably cooler than a conventional LCD display. Heavier than I expected. As others have noted, the video/USB/laptop charger cord is very short, so that unless you place this right next to the computer you'll want an extension. Built-in speaker is not bad considering it's completely hidden. No on/off switch.

This product compliments my MacBook very well. I love how bright and sharp the picture is and how it turns my laptop into a fantastic desktop computer for half the price of an iMac. I haven't found anything I don't like about it yet.

I am a full-time 24/7 Pro with three workstations. Two G5's with duel monitors(Apple 23's & Lacie Blue-eye CRT's)and a MacBook Pro Notebook with the 24" Cinema. The 24" blows them all away in every aspect, I love this monitor. If your the real deal then [$] is cheap.

Comments about Apple 24" LED Cinema Display:
Nice screen, nice colors when it worked. Turned it on maybe 20 times. Had less than 40 hours on it until it would no longer work. Apple wanted over $600 to fix it. The warranty expired 3 weeks before this happened. Bad apple!!! Had same experience with the Mac computer but it had the extended warranty. If you feel you need this monitor, do buy the extended warranty. Otherwise there are many other better choices out there.
