This is the required battery pack for the Panasonic Lumix G1 camera. This camera has a large beautiful LCD which definitely requires power. You need at least one spare for a day's photo requirements. It is great in that it is smallish in size and easy to carry. The cost borders ridiculously high. Since this is a relatively new camera, there currently are not other manufacturers abounding with their version
to power the G1.

Fine but not exemplary life
It does not impress in terms of battery life. I get about 4-5 hours of shooting time but I also use the flash quite a bit which obviously reduces the battery life.

I bought this battery for my Panasonic GH-1 Lumix.
The battery runs for many hours. I'm mostly shooting video events. I'm looking to maybe buy one more.
You can't go wrong with it. It's better than buying a generic kind.

Panasonic recommends using only Panasonic batteries ,probably for a good reason. Other manufactures don't seem to stress this as much Panasonic.

I mean, it's the proprietary battery. It works with my GF1, which apparently some of the aftermarket batteries won't. And the price is fair.

Don't try to use a knock-off brand battrery in your new Panasonic Lumix G2. I did and a message pops up saying the battery is incompatable.

Of course, this is EXACTLY the item I needed, as a second battery for my Panasonic DMC-G10 ... the camera was also bought at B&H, but I did that in person. The battery was ordered over the web, for just a bit over half of Panasonic's list price[...] Just another experience that if you need something related to photography, chances are excellent that B&H will have it - at a really good price, too.

Authentic Panasonic battery. Works like the original that came with the camera.
I tried an off-brand and started experiencing problems with the battery going dead when supposedly fully charged. The Panasonic battery lasts almost forever after being charged.

Basic backup battery, OEM product which matches the quality of the battery which came with my camera. Can't do much better.

Comments about Panasonic DMW-BLB13 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery (7.2v, 1250 mAh):
While no battery lasts as long as anyone would ever like, this battery does as well as the battery that came with my GF1 (perhaps, it is because they are the same OEM part). When charged, but not installed, it holds a full charge for quite a while (at least several weeks) in its standby role. When needed, it does what it is intended to do (be a backup battery).
Note, as with the battery that came with my GF1, it does take 2~3 hours to fully charge the battery (from a near dead state).
I only wish the cost of the battery was less (the profit on these things must be huge).

What I would expect from a manufacture peripheral.

Extra battery packs are a necessary evil and these deliver well. No suspect quality, like certain aftermarket batteries that may last a few charges.

Comments about Panasonic DMW-BLB13 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery (7.2v, 1250 mAh):
It is a 2nd battery for my Pany G1 so that I don't run out of juice while on long hikes. Considering the high drain of the G1, will probably get another one or two just to be sure I've enough power.
The only disadvantage is Panasonic's fault, they changed the battery in the GH2 for no rational reason other than to force users of the earlier bodies to buy new batteries. So I'll keep my G1 bodies for longer than originally planned.

Comments about Panasonic DMW-BLB13 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery (7.2v, 1250 mAh):
I really get a charge out of this OEM replacement battery. It is exactly like the one that came with my Panasonic G2 camera, and I don't have that "my camera is going to explode any minute" feeling from the cheap-o knock-offs you can get elsewhere. Hooray!
Comments about Panasonic DMW-BLB13 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery (7.2v, 1250 mAh):
This is the only battery compatible with the GH1 due to a firmware update.
If you're looking for a spare battery for your GH1 camera, this is your only choice.

Comments about Panasonic DMW-BLB13 Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery (7.2v, 1250 mAh):
With the latest firmware installed on your camera, 3rd party batteries won't work. So do yourself a favour and spend the [$] on the OEM battery, it's good for about 400 shots.
