This was a perfect scanner for me. I am not technically savvy but was able to set this up, install the driver, and use it within 15 minutes. I was amazed at the ease of use and I loved how the software brightened my old photos. I was initially going to have a retail store scan my photos, but for 53 cents a photo I thought it would be worth it to do it myself. It was a good choice because I am impressed with the quality of the scans. I love the multi-photo feature - the scanner recognizes multiple photos but scanned individually.

This scanner was very inexpensive but the quality of the scans exceeds my expectations. It was really easy to set up and I was scanning within seven or 8 minutes. The scans take longer than I'm used to with other more expensive machines but for the price, I absolutely cannot complain. I recommend this to anyone who is not concerned about speed. I haven't tried film yet (the scanner manual and advertising say clearly it is not designed for it) but I suspect there is probably a way to do it successfully. I could not have asked for more in view of the price and am extremely satisfied with the scanner. Black and white documents, business cards, color photographs, it just doesn't seem to matter. If you accept the stated limitations of the scanner, this is one heckuva fine product! If it was just a little faster, I would give it five stars without hesitation. If I could, I would have given it 4 1/2.

I've only had the V30 for a few weeks. Set up in Windows 7 was very smooth. Add in software for OCR, etc., included with the installation CD also installed with ease. Document scans are straight forward. Appearance of the device is pleasing and the unit appears well constructed.

It was very easy to set up, It's not plug and play at least not with windows7 you have to load the software which is easy and simple to do.
I like how it automatically separates the pictures if you scan more than 1. Some times this feature doesn't work but on the whole it worked well.
It scans 3d items fairly well I've tried it with a textured Item and scanned some bracelets and rings for pdf document it worked really well for this type of thing.
It is a bit slow but the quality is very good to scan 3 or 4 pics took a couple of minutes and a large pic almost a minute.But the quality is very good for an item in this price range.

I have been searching for a small, lightweight, affordable, yet high quality scanner for awhile. This one is all of that. I am a freelance illustrator and graphic designer and frequently need to transfer handmade work into my computer. This scanner scans my drawing perfectly, right down to the tiny details and the excellently matched color. It was incredibly simple to set up, takes up little space on my desk, is simple to use, very quiet, and very quick! Also, it recognizes separate images on the scanner, to create separate files if need be. It even separated animals I drew on one sheet; amazing! I highly recommend this product to designers, illustrators, or anyone really!

Pros:This Scanner does everything I need.
It copies, e-mails, scans and a few other things.
If you are looking for an everyday scanner for home and some office applications I would recommend this scanner.
Cons: It doesn't cost a lot, or have a lot of bells and whistles, not the fastest around.
But a Chevrolet will do the same thing as Mercedes for a lot less.
