I read all the hype on this strap and was really looking forward to it since the canon neck strap feels like a razor blade on your neck after an hour and having a heavy glass mounted.I eagerly attached it to my camera and put it on my neck. All I can say is WOW WOW WOW. The strap hugs my neck nicely and it's a pleasure to wear. With the exception of the camera hitting my stomach when I walk, I don't even know it is there. My camera is pretty heavy when fully loaded (around 5-7 lbs with lens, battery grip, batteries, flash, etc) and this strap easily takes the load. I still would never take my hand completely off my camera when having all that stuff attached (since the camera tends to swing more and also the fear of it slipping or snagging on something) but even then, I still love this strap. It is much longer then the kit strap that came with my camera. I also like the fact that it has no branding at all (except for a silly logo which is the crumpler logo). I love my canon camera but I don't want people to know what I have around my neck. When I was less mature as a photographer I used to like to flaunt my brand and expensive equipment, show it off a little and turn some heads but as I have grown and matured in the profession, I actually desire less attention and dont want to be noticed-- this strap helps me achieve that.I have already on a few occasions worn my camera over my shoulder and also sling style around my side with this strap. I would never wear a camera shoulder or sling style in public for fear of snatch and grab (I have seen it and heard of it happening) but when in private or strolling with no one around I have and love how it feels. It can get in the way when using a tripod and I do wish there were some metal quick releases for tripod mounting but at the same time, I also often like to wrap my neckstrap around the tripod so should the tripod quick release fail or mounting break, the camera will be saved from taking a 5-6 foot plunge to the ground. The length also works well with my monopod where I like to wear it around my neck while using the pod. Again I do this to deter snatch and grab and also because I have in the past accidentally let the pod slip out of my hand and the camera strap has saved me from having both fall to the ground.I have yet to try it out in high heat so I don't know how much sweat it absorbs but it is made of a breathable material that seems to keep my neck cool on warm days and in direct sun.Overall I am jumping for joy with this strap. I love it and it is well worth the money. I now understand why it is a more expensive strap and why it is called the "Industry Disgrace".... it's a disgrace that camera manufactures don't supply a good quality neck strap like this with their lenses. My only issue with the strap is that when it arrived, the one end was a little frayed and it was hard to string through my camera's strap hooks. The frayed end was partly because the one end had not been totally glued or heated to make it solid. Since I got it, it has frayed a little more and is starting to look bad. I am pretty sure this is an easy fix with a little heat or glue and some trimming-- which I will do one of these days when I get some time to address it.Overall Opinion: You are a fool not to own this. Buy it and love it!

So I couldn't resist this neck strap, expecting the plush Crumpler padding that we find in their bags. It is alright, but I'm not sure that the other rave reviews I've read are justified. Perhaps others had been using sandpaper lined neck straps, but I'll tell you, this one isn't noticeably more comfortable than was my stock Nikon strap. Some say the advantage is that it doesn't scream out the brand of the DSLR you're sporting like a factory strap, but you know what? You have a camera around your neck for all to see, and any strap says expensive gear here.

This neck strap is way more comfortable than your standard issue strap. Only thing I wish was that it would allow for a quick release system.

Comments about Crumpler Industry Disgrace Neck Strap (Black):
Naturally, I was intrigued by the camera straps claim to be the industry disgrace. I researched the straps on the market and chose the crumpler. Nikon makes the most uncomfortable straps, the crumpler is quite comfortable. Carrying a 300mm lens on top of a Nikon D700 is quite heavy. The Crumpler shoulder pad is wide and distributes the load evenly. The crumpler is not a quick release type of strap. I own a strap that has a quick release and am concerned that the release should uncouple, or a thief could sneak from behind and disconnect it, either way I don't have to worry. The industry disgrace is secure the camera stays where it is supposed to be on my shoulder.

Comments about Crumpler Industry Disgrace Neck Strap (Black):
I knew immediately after wearing the kit strap that ships with the D700 that I was going to have to find a replacement. Bought this one based on the other positive reviews and I couldn't be happier. It was easy to install (same method as the stock strap), easy to adjust and most importantly it is comfortable and helps distribute the weight of the camera. My only other experience is with the Op-Tech brand and I don't miss that bungy cord type "shock absorb" bounce that Op-Tech gives you. My camera stayed in place and I didn't experience any neck fatigue after wearing my camera for 6 hours - the padding seems to be just about right. It also is a versatile strap to wear on the shoulder.

Even more comfortable than I had hoped. My neck muscles are quite happy with this strap. Although, it does have a front and back. And of course I put it on backwards the first time.

I've used this strap at two events so far, with my Oly E-30, battery grip, and flash mounted on a flash bracket. Yes, altogether, they're heavy, but this strap does an amazing job at distributing the weight around my neck. The most recent event was about 2 hours long, and I had no neck pain afterward, unlike my last two straps.

Here's the deal. Walking around with "CANON EOS" or "NIKON" emblazoned on your neck is just uncouth. This strap is WAY more comfortable against your neck than the Canon version (only used mine for a second and it s*cked) But the best thing is that when you're walking around with it on your neck you don't look like the "Camera Guy." I like being somewhat stealth, or at least preserving that option, and you can never be stealth with a giant logo on your neck. For 30 bucks you can hardly get a dang UV filter, camera junk is stupidly expensive. Here's something that's not so bad that will make a huge difference.

I bought one of these for a photographer friend's Christmas gift who was always complaining about the strap that came with his 5D, and I when I saw how much he liked this one, I tried it out and loved it. I ended up buying a second one for myself. If you have a problem with straps chafing the back of your neck, then this is the strap for you. I highly recommend this strap!

I am really glad I decided to purchase this neck strap. I was looking for an alternative to the included strap with my 50D as it is bulky and short. The first 8 or so inches of this strap are about 3/8" wide vs the 1.25" of my Canon strap. That in itself is the biggest bonus to me as I dont have to try and fumble getting that big strap out of the way of my grip. It feels good on my neck even when I have my 24-70 hanging from it. There are many points to this that I like but just hit the "Add to Cart" button, you wont be dissapointed.

I attatched this to my Canon 5D Mark II. It feels like there's minimal weight around my neck compared to what it felt like with the factory strap--even with a 100-400mm lens attached.

Have had many straps and not completely happy with anything. The Industry Disgrace comes close to perfect. Light weight, well made, and most importantly, it is comfortable to hang around my neck or over my shoulder for extended periods of time. I was very pleased with this purchase. To make it 100 per cent, it needs quick release attachments for tripod use. Otherwise, just about perfect. Great price as well.

I purchased this strap on a recommondation from a photography message board. Another person was explaining how good the strap was so I decided to try it. I should have purchased it a few years ago. It's in use on my Canon 30D which can get heavy with some lens, a flash, stroboframe etc and the annoying strain from the canon strap is gone!
After using this strap, I am not sure why anyone would use a stock strap on a DSLR...

I can't believe I waited so long to get rid of the disgraceful excuse for a strap that came with my Nikon D90. This product is so cleverly named for when you spend almost $1000 for a camera, it ought to come with a strap worth more than 50 cents. This strap is very well made, strong and above all, adds tremendously to the comfort of using my camera in the field.
