This Ikelite housing, designed for the Canon 5D Mark II has controls for every camera function except the multi-controller. All these dependable controls are conveniently placed at your fingertips, and kept water tight with Ikelite's pioneered Quad-ring seal glands. The camera offers both digital stills and high definition video. Now you can shoot both with one camera in one housing.
The housing allows eTTL operation when using Ikelite DS digital SubStrobes. In TTL mode you can fine-tune your strobe exposure using two push buttons on the back of the housing. This allows flash compensation of 4 f/stops, in half stop increments, both over and under the base exposure. You also have 8 manual power settings in half-stop increments. Settings are clearly indicated even at night by a series of LED lights. Other manufacturers' strobes can be used, but they cannot provide TTL exposure or be adjusted manually through the housing.
The Ikelite Super-Eye magnifier offers enhanced viewing, when you're wearing a diving mask. The live preview feature of the 5D Mark II is accessible for framing your photos. The camera's large LCD screen can be clearly viewed through the back of the housing.
The housing's size and weight provides slightly negative buoyancy and superb handling underwater. Camera installation is quick and simple. An assortment of interchangeable lens ports allows use of most macro, wide angle, and zoom lenses.
Lens port is not included.

The only drawback to the housing is that you must use either the zoom control OR the manual focus control but not both at the same time. It's either/or and that decision must be made before closing the housing.

Comments about Ikelite 6871.02 eTTL Housing f/ Canon 5D Mark II:
We got flipped in our boat in the ocean and lost the housing in a bunch of rocks and kelp. Two weeks later it washed up on shore in Perfect condition.
amazing.
I heard these housings aren't super reliable, but it was so cheap we could only afford this one. I guess it is more reliable than people give it credit for.

Very nice and strong for photoshooting.
The conection between the housing and the dome let you a little bit scary before your first dive.
But after that you will see that everything works well.
For the next generation: PLEASE WE NEED A MANUAL FOCUS ON ALL THE LENS for the video possibilities of the 5D that will be GREAT!!!
A doble flash conection will be apreciate also and some better and easier instructions. For that the best solutions is the videos made from some users on Internet. The other option is buying a lot of aspirin to understand how mounting the super wide dome...;-)

This is my second housing of this same model and I'm looking forward to start using it. (The previous was broken during a flight back home... and the airline refused to pay for the damage!).
I used it in Seychelles to photograpfh marine life and I had the best of the experiences. Very easy-to-use, didn't flooded (which is great), all the buttons on the right places and very accesible.
I recommend it!

Comments about Ikelite 6871.02 eTTL Housing f/ Canon 5D Mark II:
I really like the ikelite housings overall and have used now models for the canon 20D, 5D classic, and now 5Dmk2. Ikelite designs the controls very well and its easy to operate the camera freely underwater. I really appreciate being able to control the zoom and also the flash metering. Also I like the clear acrylic housings because you can see your camera and easily check for leaks - so far haven't had any in any of the housings but still a nice confidence check.

Poor connection between body and lens ports. I used this housing for a couple of weeks before it came apart during a jump into a pool during a shoot, camera flooded- not repairable. Sent the housing into Ikelite and they said the item was not defective and could not help me, OUCH!

Comments about Ikelite 6871.02 eTTL Housing f/ Canon 5D Mark II:
I purchased this housing to shoot underwater engagement photos. I picked this brand/model because of the price and the fact that the case is clear and you can see the entire camera (unlike other brands that only allow you to see some of the camera. I liked the housing so much that I recently purchased another one so that I can work with my assistant doing video of the underwater shoots. Amazing product!
I bought multiple lens ports to use with the housing, but I have found that using the dome port with the canon 14mm super side works the best. I also purchased the underwater strobe, the 160 ikelite, and love the way my images are turning out.
The only remark that I have is that the latches sometimes pop open so fast that they smack your fingers when you are opening the case. Slightly painful but not a reason to avoid purchasing the housing.
