Comments about Panasonic BT-LH1710W 17" Widescreen HD/SD LCD Video Monitor:
Bought this with the specifically designed case by Porta Brace, and can't see it being useful as an actual moveable field monitor without it. The monitor itself is sturdy, with a slim profile and excellent resolution. We use it for static shots (such as interviews) and for teaching composition and framing. The menus are comprehensive and easy to use.Overall, a great product! I do wish it had more video inputs besides BNC though. We'll have to use a lot of adapters to make this work with a variety of cameras.

We use it with our RED camera on digital features, shorts and commercials. The off angle viewing is outstanding and it looks great. It's pricey for sure but thee are few monitors with HD-SDI and this one is awesome.

Comments about Panasonic BT-LH1710W 17" Widescreen HD/SD LCD Video Monitor:
This Panasonic monitor is an industry standard when it comes to studio work. Accurate, sharp and silent- and you can really see what you're shooting- Up until now I used a 7" and sometimes a 9" to monitor. And this is a whole different experience. Must have for anyone who takes his job seriously!

Comments about Panasonic BT-LH1710W 17" Widescreen HD/SD LCD Video Monitor:
BT-LH1710W 17" Widescreen HD/SD LCD Video Monitor by Panasonic is becoming the standard display on feature film and commercial sets because of it's robust precision representation of the image.
Easy to use menus and features like Time Code display, Vector and waveform.
I own two of these units and may in the future buy two more they seem to hold up under production conditions.

Comments about Panasonic BT-LH1710W 17" Widescreen HD/SD LCD Video Monitor:
We use this monitor in our edit bays and our video control area to give us a clear picture of quality and tech issues critical during digitizing and mastering. It's lightweight and clear. However, it is a little clunky to shift between modes. And BEWARE of how easily the front screen scratches. Replacing/repairing the screen is nearly same price as replacing the unit with Panasonic.

Good reproduction for critical field evaluation of images. The waveform helps with quantitative evaluation, too.

Comments about Panasonic BT-LH1710W 17" Widescreen HD/SD LCD Video Monitor:
Use this monitor mainly with my jib arm and love it. The large viewing radius is incredibly helpful and the crisp picture makes focusing a breeze. Only con is that the monitor is not exceedingly bright, even with backlight and brightness all the way up, it can sometimes be difficult to see the picture in direct sunlight.

Used in an HD video assist environment. Picture is great. They got rid of the noisy fan. On the heavy side for run and gun type production work.

Comments about Panasonic BT-LH1710W 17" Widescreen HD/SD LCD Video Monitor:
Reality is - there are so many video formats out there, we need a monitor that does them all, AND THIS ONE DOES - And Does it well ! The built in Waveform / Vectorscope and Split screen "A/B-ing" I find to be great tools to have out in the field. AC or DC = Can be used anywhere. There are more accurate and brighter monitors out there - but none that have these features at this price.

I am in Australia and use the 17" Panasonic mainly on TVC's and feature films. When ever I bring it out Directors and Agency rave about size and quality of the picture. The 4 pin xlr power input is great for shooting in remote locations and DOPs love the built in waveform monitor. Great product I will probably get a couple more...

Comments about Panasonic BT-LH1710W 17" Widescreen HD/SD LCD Video Monitor:
I love this monitor, i've used the lower end version before and this model is better by far. What I find most useful is the ability to view audio meters on the screen through SDI. As well I see this model doesn't have any fan's and runs a lot cooler.
