The Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR Digital Camera utilizes ground-breaking technology to create an unprecedented level of image quality from a consumer level compact camera. The 12 Megapixel Super CCD EXR and EXR Processor, offer 3 switchable modes in one sensor. The High Resolution mode provides fine detail of intricate subjects when plenty of light is available; the High Sensitivity mode produces images with extraordinary quality and minimal noise when shooting in very low-light; and the Wide Dynamic Range mode captures an excellent level of detail in both highlights and shadows - even in bright and contrasty direct sunlight.
The camera incorporates a powerful Fujinon 5x wide angle optical zoom lens that allows for shooting of both wide vistas and large groups as well as superb close-ups and macro capability. It also includes the most powerful face detection technology on the market, Face Detection 3.0, with auto red eye removal. On top of this, the F200EXR offers 5 Film Simulation Modes, a 3.0" high-resolution 230,000 dots wide view LCD, HD Photo Output, and Dual Image Stabilization with CCD shift image stabilization combined with high sensitivity up to ISO 12800 (3 million pixel only) so your shots will be blur-free time after time, even in the most difficult of conditions. Furthermore the FinePix F200 EXR combines Fujifilm's tried and true scene recognition technology with EXR technology in the revolutionary EXR AUTO mode. This lets the camera choose the best sensor mode for the scene and quickly optimize the camera's settings to allow the photographer to concentrate on capturing the perfect shot.

Fuji has finally given me a compact camera that I can use when I don't want to carry my DSLR. The low noise at higher ISO's is incredible. The 3" LCD is outstanding too. It has a great feel with the durable all medal body. I am rough on cameras and this camera just has a great weight and feel. I really like the gui and the menu, it is easy to navigate. The 5X 28mm-140mm lens is really sharp and the macro capability is the best I have ever seen on a compact point and shoot camera. The redeye correction feature is also quick and very accurate. The Fuji F200EXR is the best compact camera I ever used. I love it.

It's all about the noise.
I found the noise level unacceptable when shooting in low light. Controls on back of camera are not ideal for larger hands. Great pictures in good lighting.

Comments about Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR Digital Camera (Black):
so far the finepix is easy to use, has pleanty of manual tools, and great auto stuff with the new EXR settings. I am really happy with it. I also like that it has the natural and natural with flash option, that way it actually takes two pictures and shows you what it would look like with and without. I haven't had too much opportunity for picture taking but so far I really love the camera. Downside is that the battery life is used up pretty quickly by the EXR features. Also, the zoom seems a little disappointing.

If what you are looking for is a "do it all" camera... you have definitely found it in the F200 We love its versatility in varied light situations especially High contrast shots. Facial zooming in people shots is helpful. Took us a while to find one we liked.it is quite versatile and small enough to fit in your pocket.

Comments about Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR Digital Camera (Black):
The camera has a lot of features packed into a lightweight camera. It is sold as "excellent in low light situations" as it does a wonderful job balancing a wide variation of light in a single picture. However, this may sometimes cause a picture with bright sky and dark buildings to make the building very dark. Adjustments can be made to compensate, but you need to read the manual to learn how to take excellent pictures.

Comments about Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR Digital Camera (Black):
I bought this camera after doing a lot of research (online, asking friends, photographers and staff of B&H) on a compact point and shoot camera at a resonable price that would shoot well in dimly lit enviroments (i go to see lots of jazz concerts in small venues and like to take a few shots... until now with my previous cameras usually these shots were quite blurred...).
A few articles and people recommended the F200EXR.
After about a month of experience on it I am quite impressed... and the price was quite reasonable. Especially when one sets the camera modality on EXR High ISO & Low Noise it's possible to take great shots in dark situations. I've used the other settings in different circumstances and I can say I've been very positively surprised and am very very happy with this camera so far.

Easy to use pocket shooter ready for you on in every situation. But it is in low light enviornments when the camera truely shines with easy focus and automatic adjustments and all you have to do os point and shoot.
Great buy, well recomended. Could be $50-75 cheaper to be a great buy.

I use this camera, primarily for indoor available light photos that are published in a local newsletter. I previously had been using a Canon G10 but this Fuji, in my opinion, is far superior for this use. Make certain that you have a spare battery because it is very battery intensive in certain shooting modes.

The best stills from any camera I have used but the video capture is very disappointing. Does a wonderful job in the automatic modes as well.

I love the bigger screen and the settings work great. I have upgraded each time Fujifilm comes out with a new version of this camera and even though this is the same 12 MP as the 100 it has a better screen to view and better setup for the preset photo types and added many more extras. Well worth the money and gives Professional results with a small point and shoot.

Comments about Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR Digital Camera (Black):
This is a very good camera given the features. The only problem is the zoom speed: it zooms from max to min very fast, so it is quite hard to adjust/compose for a desired setting. The camera is somewhat heavy, but not heavier than another with similar features. If you don't need its features, you may get a lighter & smaller model. This is a compact camera with DSLR features. The primary shortcoming (as compared to a DSLR) is the lack of an optical viewfinder (as in all new compacts). If it had an optical vf, I would not carry my DSLR to trips anymore. The HDR is not very impressive but quite useful.

Purchased this because my other FinePix camera has a small defect at the bottom of the lens(I caused, not originally there).
Extremely happy with both versions.

I use this product for everyday use...personal/family photos. I love the fact that this camera is so easy to use. The photos are beautiful every time with the automatic setting. I love the way the camera looks and feels in my hands! The buttons are clear and easy to use. The product is very high quality in my opinion. I highly recommend this product and would definitely purchase it again and again!

Many settings available from newbie to advanced. I am somewhere in the middle and enjoy the flexiblity. Controls are easy to use. Picture quality is good. I haven't enlarged any photos yet so I can't say 'excellent' until I do.
The only feature I don't like is the size. I had an olympus for years (that I dropped) that fit in my back pocket. This one is about 2X as thick.
