Great camera
I purchased this camera as a replacement for my Canon A640 (shattered the lens) and am VERY happy with this camera!

The image quality is awsome and very sharp. You could see the detail - eye lashes and whiskers on the shot of the tiger with great clarity. No sharpening necessary!
The color quality is excellent.
Image stabalization is very good - can hand hold a lot more shots without having to pull out a tripod.
The live histogram feature is nice.
Camera has a true continous shooting mode - saves all the pics in a sequence, not just the last 3.
Not as good in extreme low light situations and the faster 13 frames per second shooting mode is not available in the higher resolutions. But that is what my DSLR camera is for.
The only complaint that I have is with Fuji, not the camera. The advanced owner's manual is provided on a CD. A printed manual would have been nice to toss in the camera bag until one gets to know the camera inside out to access the advanced features of the camera, like which button did I push again to see the live histogram? That said, the learning curve is minimal with this camera. It only took a short time to learn the camera features inside out.

After using Fuji S700, I bought the 1500 as a spare and am really disappointed. The two most annoying features are abominable shutter lag and worse, the location of battery/mem. card chamber. When in the field or wedding, changing batteries things tend to dump out of the bottom location: In snow or sand this can be the loss of several shots or function. With gloves, even light ones, forget it. For a friend there are better buys out there, even if less zoom and MPs.

I love this product I love to take pictures I got this product in new york and took at least 100 pictures .I took a lot of pictures from the top of the Empire State Building and the came out very well. I love this product and I would recomend it to anyone who wants good value for there money. It is also good for anyone who likes to take excellent pictures but likes to have a compact camera overall this is a great product.

Photography is a hobby of mine but I don't want to spend the money on a digital SLR. This camera provides crisp, clear shots and is easy to use. I used to have a similar camera but never could figure out all the different settings. The FinePix S1500 has similar settings but a description of the setting pops up on the screen to remind me how to use it. It was easy to learn how to use this camera, and I love all the different features it has, including manual settings. I also like how light weight and small it is.
The only draw back of this camera is that when you review a photo on the screen after you take the picture, it looks really pixalized. The actual photo is NOT like that, one you get it on your computer. But it scared me the first time I took a photo. I was afraid the actual shot would look like that.

I have only had the camera a short time, but so far have found it simple to use. The controls come naturally to my fingers, and both the LED/EVF and clear and crisp. I have a FujiFilm S5100 with an adaptor ring and wish the 1500 came with one to protect the lens. I also wish the owner's manual was in the box. It took a couple of days for me to get enough paper to print it out, since I am one of those grumpy old men who like to have the manual in my hand while I am pushing buttons.
Can wait to get this down to the NC coast to take some summer photos of the ocean.

I decided on this camera because it offered so much in the way of zoom, image options, and that it also had a viewfinder. I have owned a Fuji finepix for ten years and have taken some great pictures so I anticipated even better with this camera. I have struggled with this camera and find it much more difficult to operate. The controls are not the same and require the manual to understand. I still would purchase it again and think it will be worth it once I am comfortable with it.

I ordered 5 of these for my adult children for Christmas, after having a FinePix S5100 (4MP) 5.5 years with great success, I felt this camera would be perfect for them to document this Christmas and ones to come. Each one of the recipients has voiced their opinions to me that "this was an awsome gift and they really liked the various options." As we all know everyone is different, my oldest son likes to photgraph and video his children and dog, my oldest daughter will probably have mastered the options because she likes to experiment. None of them have had a camera that allows them the freedon to explore and be creative, I belive this camera allows that freedom and will serve them well for many years.

We did a lot of research before purchasing this camera. I previously had a Kodak Easyshare Z740 and was looking for an equivalent camera, that is a camera that takes excellent pictures and has an optical zoom and a viewfinder. This camera fits the bill and then some. I've only had it since Christmas but I am very pleased with the pictures that it takes. I also like that the flash does not work unless you open it, making it easy to override the flash when you don't want it. However, I imagine some (forgetful) people might not like this feature as they may not remember to open the flash even when they need it. I highly recommend this camera, especially if you are looking to upgrade from a point and shoot. You cannot beat the price either.
