The Casio Exilim EX-S12 Digital Camera can produce high quality images with a resolution of up to 12.1 megapixels for stunning prints with lots of detail. The camera can also capture HD video in the popular 16:9 widescreen format. Add to this the cameras 3x optical zoom lens, extensive exposure settings, Best Shot Functions along with the specialized YouTube Shooting feature, Auto Shutter functions and the Dynamic Photo mode - all in a compact camera body that's 0.6" thick, and you'll have an incredibly versatile camera that is great for just about any shooting situation.

- The image sensor of the EX-S12 captures up to 12.1 million effective pixels for beautiful high-resolution images that can easily produce prints up to 30 x 40" in size while still maintaining impressive image detail
- 3X Optical Zoom Lens
- The high quality 3x optical zoom lens has a focal range equivalent of 36-108mm (in 35 mm terms), making the camera perfect for shooting group shots, family vacations, nature photography,- or just about anything. Furthermore, the 4x Digital Zoom brings the cameras combined zooming power to 12x
- Ultra-slim Design
- The EX-S12 is extremely slim - about 0.6" thick - so it can easily go with you anywhere. It is so slim that you could put it in your back pocket and possibly forget that it is there
- HD Movie Recording
- The EX S12 can record HD movies with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a resolution of 1280 x 720 @ 24 fps or standard format movies at 640 x 480 @ 30 fps or 320 x 240 @ 15 fps. The camera also offers YouTube Capture Mode, which records and saves movies at the ideal settings for the world's largest video sharing site, YouTube. Recorded video can be easily uploaded to YouTube using the special included computer software

- The cameras Best Shot scene mode enables selection of the appropriate camera setting for still photos via an easy to understand sample image menu, so you'll be able to take beautiful pictures, regardless of the shooting situation or your particular photography expertise. Simply select the sample scene that resembles the type of image you are trying to record and the camera is configured automatically with the applicable recording mode, Auto Focus setting, and more

- The camera can detect faces automatically and adjusts for optimum focus and brightness to optimize the appearance of the faces in your image. The camera even follows the movement of moving subjects, which simplifies shooting images of active pets and kids
- Make-up Shot
- The Make-up Shot Function utilizes the cameras outstanding image processing to make the skin on faces appear smoother and reduce facial shadows caused by strong sunlight or illumination - ensuring beautiful portraits. You can select from twelve effect levels and observe the effect on the cameras LCD display while taking the photo. The EX-S12 even has a separate "Make-up Shot Button" to activate or de-activate the function quickly

The Anti Blur Auto Shutter, Pan Auto Shutter, Smile Detection Auto Shutter and Self Portrait Auto Shutter functions of the EX-S12 ensures rapid focus and takes the photo automatically when the subject is ready, steady and properly framed.
- Anti Blur Auto Shutter helps prevent shaking and blurring by taking the photograph at the precise moment when your hand or the moving subject becomes still
- Pan Auto Shutter takes the photo automatically as soon as the moving subject becomes still in the frame or when you follow it with the camera to reduce the blurring of your moving subject.
- Smile Detection Auto Shutter ensures that you will capture happy smiling faces by automatically triggering the cameras shutter once the subjects are smiling
- Self Portrait Auto Shutter enables the camera to automatically trigger once the faces of the subjects are located within the frame
- Dynamic Photo & Multi-motion Function
- The Dynamic Photo Function lets you cut out an element from a photo which has just been taken and use another photo as the background. You can even cut out several photos from series shots and insert them to show a moving object on a still background. The Multi-Motion-Image feature enables you to capture a movement sequence in just one single photo to illustrate a basketball jump-shot or a gymnastics move - and all of this can be done right in the camera with no editing on the computer

I found out about this camera from consumer reports, and it has not disappointed. There is the smallest delay of any digital camera I have owned. It's also super compact, and the photos are very crisp. Not complicated to operate either, very intuitive.
