[...] These speakers are amazing for the size and power. I cannot think of another active speaker in this price range that has this quality of sound. Although, I will not recommend this product for professional level studio monitoring, it should be more than adequate for hobby recording as well as perfect for desktop media use. I bought these to replace a stereo system that was attached to my business computer. Not only is this product much smaller than my old system, it has a more audiophile oriented sound. The bass is a little over exaggerated to appeal to the modern ear (i.e. younger generation used to over amping bass). That being said, they are still flat in sound profile compared to any n on-monitor style speaker or multimedia speaker. High quality enclosure with good quality components. You will not find better components in a sub-100 dollar monitor product.

Comments about M-Audio Studiophile AV 30 15W 3" Active 2-Way Desktop Monitors (Pair):
These speakers have an annoying hum at 120Hz and its harmonics. The hum is clearly audible with no sound and at low volumes. The hum is present even when detached from the audio input.
At a volume sufficiently high to mask the hum the speakers sound otherwise great.
The included 3.5mm->RCA cable played the right channel only. I had to change cable to hear the left channel.
Overall this product is not up to the M-Audio standards of quality. Do not buy.

I think they're a little bass heavy, but for a little monitoring/reference set of speaks, this is pretty decent. It's clean and provides a decent referencing baseline from which to mix from. If you want a low end system like others referencing tool, or are on a tight budget, these would work.

I use these for desktop PC, mostly listening to music and Utube / various sound files. Very high quality cabs with good features and overall good value. A little bass heavy for me ( I have NO idea who would want to engage the Bass Boost, a Bass Cut would be useful) but for the price I am very satisfied. [...]

Finally, I can hear what needs to be fixed before other people can. Saves time money and cringing at first screening.
No complaints. Great in small spaces.

Excellent sound and value for the price. I had a pair of Klipsch PM20's that served me well for a few years until the power input busted. It was a good opportunity to move from multimedia style speakers to a real monitor. After some getting used to I really like these. I'd become accustomed to exaggerated bass with the Klipsch's. I do a little EQ coming out of iTunes for daily listening, and wound up plugging the port with foam to lessen some bass boom. After that they became nice and punchy. Another plus is that the volume and headphone out are on the left speaker, so my headphone cable isn't draped over my mouse arm.

replaced a pair of harman kardon computer speakers with these and they sound fantastic. I live in a small apartment with thin walls and don't need loud speakers but am more concerned with quality. Nice rich sound and plenty of low-end for their size.

Comments about M-Audio Studiophile AV 30 15W 3" Active 2-Way Desktop Monitors (Pair):
I bought these speakers to replace two side speakers on my 7.1 set up. The output on the 7.1 sub for the right side did not work and I needed a set of powered speakers to plug directly into the computer.
The speakers have a great sound. I've considered making them the front left and right speakers and putting lesser speakers on the sides. One of the best features for my purposes is the fact they use standard speaker wire to connect the two speakers. This made it much easier to run the wire around the room to have one speaker on each side. Also, the main powered speaker uses a 3.5mm mini plug to RCA plug splitter, also making it easy to extend the reach of the cables.
Overall, a great product and design. The only downside I can find is that they won't mount on a speaker stand, but that's pretty typical of 2.0 computer speakers.

Bought These on a Whim. I really liked the Audioengine A2's but the $200 price tag was more than I wanted to spend. I settled on these larger less powered babies for my new phone and it's Bluetooth dock.
Boy am I happy I "settled!" Side by side, they sound better than the Bose speakers (everyone raves about) that cost more! put them in the upstairs window with my dock and control them with my phone when I Bbq and have to turn them down so as not to bother the neigbors. Even then They sound incredible!

Balanced sound, tight bass, not boomy, powerful enough for a small apartment, and great price. I've tried many speakers and these are the best, and happen to be the cheapest too!

We purchased one set from B&H and after one month the left speaker has low volume all of a sudden. I found this problem after purchasing and doing searches on the Internet. This doesn't seem to be a common problem, but to only last a month that's why I gave it one star.

I just picked these up not too long ago and the sound quality is better than what I had expected. These monitors produce quality sound without having a mess of cables and multiple satellite speakers crowding your desk. Setup was easy and will only take you a few minutes. Definitely pick these up if you are on a budget and if you want to minimize clutter on your workspace!

I got these speakers to add onto to my projector for a vbs program at church. They are built well and the sound quality is really nice.
I am not an audio guru, but they are not fuzzy, or crackly at all, very clean sound.
If you are heavy into bass, the bass is lacking in these some but that isn't what I bought them for so they were perfect for me.
I would recommend them to anyone.
