Once I had set eyes on this monitor, and the very high resolution, I knew I wanted one. I play a lot of space sims, MMOs and games that need a lot of screen real estate to really be appreciated, and on top of that I do a little web development in addition. The large screen footprint immerses me entirely in what I'm doing, and the brightness, even at 50/50 (Brightness/Contrast) is enough to make me squint at first. If you use it in a bright home office or at work, it should be more than adequate. I have noticed a little bit of a shimmering problem on certain textures, even after checking resolutions and refresh rates, but it's rare and I only really notice it when I'm glancing at the screen from across the room. The horizontal resolution is great, but I wish the vertical resolution was a little more (1152 feels a little "small"). I purchased a dual link DVI cable so that I would be able to run this monitor at the full resolution, so be sure you pick one up as well, or you will be limited to a lower resolution since the single link DVI doesn't have the right bandwidth to run this display at the native resolution. The swivel, pivot and angle adjustments are awesome, and the stand feels very solid. I love the height adjustment, and the locking button on the back helps if you ever need to move the monitor. I use a separate speaker system so I don't use the integrated speakers on the monitor, but I did test them and the sound output was adequate for daily computing. I have used it to watch a BluRay and DVD or two, and in a completely dark room, it's a great experience. My bed is about 6' away from my desk at an angle, and since this screen is big enough, and the swivel/tilt functions allow me to adjust it to aim at the bed, it's come in handy for times when the desk chair just wasn't looking very comfortable. I also really appreciate the integrated USB hub. Sometimes reaching behind the computer is a pain, so having them on the left side of the monitor is great to have.

I have used it now for over a year and i can now review this lcd.
PRO: Cheaper than others, size 27"
CONS: Cheap quality. not a good color rendition, VERY BAD Controls for adjusting. Squeaks when angeling the screen, Heavy.
Just don't buy it. Save up and pick up a imac 27". When comparing the Imac 27" screen with this, i just wanna cry...
This is a very inferior Screen even when compared with Dell screens.
IF you want a Mediocre quality screen and this is it, otherwise look else where.

I had mid-range expectations for this monitor - just coming off of 3 19" mounted monitors. I was hoping to lose the bezels, while still maintaining plenty of screen real-estate. This monitor does great for my requirements.

Comments about Acer B273HU bmidhz 27" Widescreen LCD Computer Display:
Much better colors than my previous (LG) and lighter weight despite the large screen. Easy assembly of stand. Ready for use without image adjustments, with software finding the preferred resolution (2048x1152). Primary use is text which is sharp in 100% and also higher sizes. Don't use the speakers because my two Logitech's fit nicely behind the monitor.Haven't tried the pivot feature because it's big enough to display more than two 8.5x11 pages side by side. Best price [...]. Can't understand why some are paying more than double for the same size Dell. The 27" screen is already envied by visitors to my home.

Comments about Acer B273HU bmidhz 27" Widescreen LCD Computer Display:
Wanted a bigger monitor with better than 'standard' resolution (1920x1080 or 1920x1200). This monitor is in its own class, but not as pricey as some of the high-end monitors.
Great picture quality and tons of input options.
Few other things I like:
- this monitor is fast when it comes to switching between resolutions. My prev monitor will pause with a black screen for almost 20 seconds when I switch video to fullscreen or run game in diff resolution
- built-in USB hub can power my iPhone when computer is asleep. iPhone would not charge if connected directly to my PC when its sleeping. Some of the stand-alone powered USB-hubs also would not charge it.

I bought this computer for my computer build. Wanted great resolution for gaming and for just an all around good screen. From the time I turned it on and played some of the games I have I was amazed. Great color.. and great resolution. It's just the right size too for personal computer use. The only thing that isn't too amazing is frame of the computer. VERY simplistic. (it doesnt' bother me really much).. but overall VERY happy with my purchase. Would do it again..

Good monitor if you are looking for a large widescreen display for every day work or gaming. I bought three of these for an ATI Eyefinity setup.
The monitors are very bright and definitely need some calibration after installing. There is a bit of backlighting bleed around the edges-- a little more than average LCD monitors.
The height/swivel/tilt adjustments and the USB ports (4 total) on the side and bottom edge of the monitor are a nice bonus that is not usually included with monitors in this price range. Setup was very easy and it was nice that HDMI, DVI-D, VGA, Audio, and USB cables were provided.
I haven't used the speakers, but I don't need them. They are completely invisible as they are located behind and underneath the screen. The button controls can be difficult only because the markings for each button are sometimes hard to read as they blend into the frame of the monitor. But this also helps give the monitor a clean and uncluttered appearance.
The response time and performance is great and the colors are very vibrant. While it would have been nice if higher resolutions were available for a monitor of this size (reason for four out of five stars), overall I would recommend this monitor to anyone that needs a new monitor for gaming or general productivity work.

Wanted a 30" Monitor but was a little out of my price range.
Great monitor for the price, Used for Work and Games.
Nothing to really complain about.
Would have gave 5 stars if not for Input Toggle and reset back to default settings.

I give it five stars for the price you pay for. It offers exceptional clarity and color. Very impressed with it. Very slight bleeding on the edges, but I hardly notice. Setup buttons could be a little better (but isn't the same issue with most monitors!?). The monitor comes with an HDMI cable, decent color adjustment software. The issue I had was setting up the stand. It took a few minutes to get the screw in, but don't let that detract you from purchasing this monitor. My other monitor is an Acer 23 inch, which I am happy with. [...] I wanted a good comprimise betwwen a work station, movie viewing and gaming monitor. Conducted a lengthy research and found the Acer B273HU to have very good reviews and decent consumer marks. If you want better than be prepared to spend 2-4 times the amount, especially if you move to 30". There are some very good ones, but they put a wallop to your bank account. I built three computer systems and I have become pickier about how I spend my money (it seems the more you make, the pickier you become ). So again, choosing this monitor took considerable amount of time and effort.
