I got this product about two weeks ago and with some shooting I find it great for the money.
The lights run hot but in their soft boxes cut down on the heat and make them more directional. They have a tilt knob that is geared like a gobo head so they don't slip at all. The soft boxes are very easy to but on and setup. They have four thumb screws that hold the adapter ring to the lamp head. The soft box has all it's rods going to a ring that you push down until it locks on to the lamp head. It makes the box very taught and rigid when in use.
The Light Stands don't raise very high (8') but are still durable. They fold small unlike my bulkier stands and don't feel flimsy at all even with the light on and soft box.
The Chroma Key backdrop is very high quality also as after folding, throwing, and general abuse it has not wrinkled and has not torn. It also has metal rings for hanging with those plastic wall hooks you see at grocery stores for those without a backdrop stand. It also has your regular sleeve for use with a backdrop stand.
The DVD backdrops are nice but it only includes 20 and they are shot in 480p but they are pretty much the cherry on the cake and not the whole thing so they don't really matter. The instructional DVD pretty much displays what is in the manual in video form and it's shooting tips are basic so for more experienced videographers and photographers they are useless.
My only con was the Photofloods. There're bright at 500 watts but they are made by a third party and are very cheap. They are only rated at 60 hours and one of my lamps bulb blew after only about a total of 1:30 of use. This may not be a problem as many people will just buy another brand of bulb along with this kit as there are no extras.
In conclusion I find this kit great for the price and if you need a backdrop and some extra lights or even a first kit it is very high quality and worth a lot more than the price.

I bought this product to do some video editing. For the price it is a great value, however I have to deduct some stars as the green screen had a tiny hole in it and both bulbs for the light were shattered. The hole wasn't,t a big issue as it is very small and do esn,t appear on video, but the bulbs were useless. [...]

Affordable and working great for me. I think this is one of the best investments I've made in a while. Now in wind may fall over but other than that pretty good.

Well, the photo and the description give the impression that the green-screen stand is included – It is not! Was primarily interested in the screen and lights. For essentially a green piece of fabric and 2 lights, this kit is overpriced. Would have done better getting lights from [...] and fabric from a fabric store.

Comments about Westcott uLite 2-Light Video Lighting Kit (120VAC):
I bought this prodoct for unline videos and wide variety of other thing. Like most people I started out with DIY lighting kits which is a Halogen Work Light and clamp lights. The main reason why I bought kit is because I keep blowing the outlets. When I found out about this kit I thought it was perfect for my need. Dude to it having a small softbox, fairly tell and I can put light in it that used lest power. When I'm out on a shoot. I rather have my clients see me useing these light other then my halogen lights. The 3 disc it came with are nice. The Animated Background disc is the better of the three. The educational was nice that they have it. But if you have already research Chroma key you mit fine it a little unneeded and they should of put more information about professional green screen setups. The free trial of Adobe Premiere Elements 7 software was REALLY UNNEEDED. If your buying the kit you my alreally have a software really to go. I know when this product came out the Premiere Elements 7 was the current version if the software but now there a few more version of the software ahead. It should be aleast the full version of Adobe Premiere Elements 7.The Green Screen isn't bad. It's a good mid-rang green screen but like most people I whould of like a bigger screen. I can see how they made it for the household with the metal ring to hang it.[...] But out of the other I think the Green Kit is the best way to start and then buy the other light from this line if you think it needed.I do wish the westcott whould make a uLite kit with barndoors. For professional used this my not be the best of kits. But for those who are building there lighting setups. This is a GRATE WAY TO START!!

I bought this lighting kit for a documentary I'm producing for a non-profit organization. I traveled with this kit from Atlanta to Dallas. I set up shop in a conference room using the rings in the green screen to affix it to a wall. I lit the green screen with two Husky worklights ($25 each) and set the two soft boxes out front.
The stands aren't anything to write home about but they definitely do the job. After my first trip with them I noticed a few dings and scraps. You'll learn neat ways to warp them inside the green screen to protect them. The height is nice and easily adjustable due to the spring loaded rods.
This product doesn't have anything special to offer over other lights except it's cost, but overall I was very pleased with using it.

I use this for lighting interview subjects in-studio. It's an easy set-up either solo or with a crew. Cute little "how to" video for first-timers. A very solid mount holds the well designed softbox at any elevation you need. I have had great results with the four head flourescent adapters that are optionally available for this light kit. The chromakey screen has been very helpful for background insertion in post.

I needed an inexpensive lighting kit for an interview a few weekends ago and ordered this great product. Perfect for the interview and the green screen it came with is plenty big to get the job done and then some. Anyone who is looking for a simple to use and easy to setup lighting kit, this one is for you. Great product!

Comments about Westcott uLite 2-Light Video Lighting Kit (120VAC):
Not a bad kit for the price. Very bright, but a little chinsey. The stands seem stable and durable enough, but the soft box is pretty poorly designed, and the bulb is huge and needs to be remooved after each use to travel. But you get what you pay for, and the price is good enough that I do not feel cheated in any way.

Comments about Westcott uLite 2-Light Video Lighting Kit (120VAC):
Easy to set up and I obtained great results the first time out of the box. I used it to shoot a video commercial. I did use E26 Fluoresent 85w bulbs instead of the 500 watt bulbs that came with the kit. They produced soft light. I have not had a chance to try the green screen yet.The light stands are sturdy and I have to conclude by saying that for the money, it is a great kit.

I used the softboxes with and without the green screen, great either way. For that price, they're a steal. You can tell the company actually cared about you learning about lighting and setting up the green screen right with their educational videos.

When you are new at video and have few resources lights might be the last thing you think about, and if you do, it might be of dollar bills flashing before your eyes, but with the uLite 2-Light Video Lighting Kit (120VAC) by Westcott that's just not the case. This sturdy little kit offers a great lighting source that is easy to set up , breakdown and travel with. The softboxes included in the kit give a nice diffused lighting source that makes your end product shine. And just for good measure, Westcott throws in what every creative videographer pines for a green screen with a how to DVD . Who could ask for anything more? Not me.

We use the uLite kit for chromakey and got instant results - fast! the lights are super-portable, lightweight and couldn't be easier to assemble. Due to time constraints, I didn't read all of the instructions and maybe a quick-start guide would be useful, but it didn't matter. Both were up-and-running in less than 5 minutes!

Amazing deal for the price. I couldn't believe the kit included so much. A word to the wise, you're definitely going to want to invest in a frame to mount the green screen as there isn't one included (despite what it might seem like in the photo).

I'm using the uLite kit as a small portable studio. The results have been what I hoped for. The stands are easily setup and sturdy enough for my use. The light boxes are also easy to setup and attach securely to the stands. Good quality for the price.
When I received the shipment one of the 500 watt bulbs was smashed. I had read in other reviews here that others have had the same problem upon delivery. I notified B&H and they sent a replacement.

As a videographer and software developer I am using this kit as a green screen setup to produce an American Sign Language DVD. I will plug in various backgrounds for the GS. The kit is very useful for this especially when I purchased an florescent adapter to replace the regular lamps. The GS was billed as wrinkle resistant: Hardly, it was full of wrinkles and stretching barely made it useable. The stands are telescoping but the bottom section of both stands are stuck and so far I've been unable to free them up. The kit has great potential for the price and I've thought about buying another but .....
