The LaCie iamaKey brings a fun twist to the USB flash drive. Designed in conjunction with 5.5 Designers, this key-shaped drive fits easily on your key ring for total access to your data anytime. Packed with 4GB of solid-state flash storage, the iamaKey has a Gold SIP connector, which resists water and scratches for extreme durability. The drive has a solid, one-piece design that is very rugged and will last many years.
The USB 2.0 interface is hot-pluggable with both Mac and Windows computers and is backward-compatible with USB 1.1. It has a very fast transfer rate of up to 30 MB/s. Protective edges on the connector ensure that the iamaKey is always inserted properly into a USB port. The drive is also compatible with Windows ReadyBoost. The LaCie CooKey comes with two years and 4GB of online storage from Wuala, which helps you easily back up, store your files, and share them with friends.

I loaded it with portable firefox so I no longer need to worry about security when using another system. Very handy on the keychain and always there when I need it. The only drawback; it is a bit loose fitting in the USB slot. Otherwise, great product.

I can only give 4 stars since the reason I bought it was to access ReadyBoost in Vista. Ostensibly, it would help to improve performance even if only slightly. Unfortunately, my antivirus keeps blocking it and I can't yet figure out how to stop that action without disabling the antivirus.
Where the iamaKey drive really succeeded for me was due to its very thin profile it easily slides under other USB plugs without any difficulty.
The construction seems quite good and solid.
The only other drawback would be the small probably easily lost endcap.
Otherwise, I would most certainly buy this item again.

I would think that this was kind of an item that would not live up to actually being able to be handled like a key. I bought three for my business. Two of us keep these on our key chines and they have not lost the nibs that protect the innards yet anyway. Light weight, nice key, affordable!

Yes there are flash drives of higher capacity and cheaper. This is one to be used on your keychain to:
1 - be always with you
2 - take the banging of your other keys
Also, there is some style component. Everybody that sees it likes it and for daily transfer of work/home files, 4Gb is enough.
Cap is little and can be easily lost, but I understand that it´s the best design possible in this case. Better than having no protection on the contacts.
