I bought this mount for use on my aircraft. I do a lot of aerial videos and I needed a mount with versatility. The Fat Gecko mount gave me just that. I always use a secondary securing method in case the Fat Gecko were to release in flight, but to date it has remained firmly attached at speeds up to 140MPH.
The only thing I think could be better would be two or three extension arms of various lengths. Other than that, the product is excellent!

Shaky
OK at slower speeds, but due to it singular non triangular mount, it shakes at higher speeds when camera is mounted on the hood where the metal can flex.

Comments about Delkin Devices Fat Gecko Dual-Suction Camera Mount:
We attached a GoPro camera to this thing and suctioned it to the body of a single engine Cessna. The trip was short, and it held up all the way until the landing on Lake Toba, at which point the impact popped it off and dumped our rig in the water. But in all fairness, the pilot was partially to blame - NOT a normal landing, and our choice of mounting location was poor. I was shocked it even made it on the journey. I'm not sure how fast we were traveling, but it sure made for some incredible footage! Super easy to use and flexible enough to attach to odd-angle surfaces. The mount was unharmed and luckily we had it tethered. We have two more flights scheduled ... hehe. Looking forward to more tests! For the price, you won't find a better or stronger mount. VERY happy ... so far. ;)

Comments about Delkin Devices Fat Gecko Dual-Suction Camera Mount:
Was happy to receive this camera mount. To make an initial test I cleaned all surfaces and mounted it to the drawer front of my desk. It has a smooth fake wood laminate surface that is very smooth. I then mounted my Canon HS-10 video camera. It seemed to be holding. For security I placed a large pillow below the rig just in case. I continued to work for about an hour and then went to bed. While getting comfortable I heard a clunk noise from the office. Investigating, there laid the Fat Gecko and my camera on the pillow. Later I will attach it to my office window in the cool morning and see if the rise in temperature during the day will cause it to let go of the window. I compare this to mounting it to my car window or windshield and driving from shade to sun coming through the window. In both cases before I gain confidence I will place a pillow below the rig just in case. If I ever have it mounted to the outside of my car you can be sure I will have a safety lanyard tied to the car.

Nice product, a little unstable. Wouldn't trust it at speeds over 30mph without a safety harness on the camera.

Comments about Delkin Devices Fat Gecko Dual-Suction Camera Mount:
Simply put, the suction cup mechanism is very strong, definitely a good product and confident it will securely hold my gear.
There is a definite shake in the image as the car or vehicle you attach to moves and while this could just be the vibration from the vehicle I think the plastic arm allows for additional vibration and there is no way to bypass the arm and tie the camera directly to the suction mount which is disappointing.
Also it is mostly made of plastic and I wonder if eventually the locking mechanisms will eventually loosen up. But as I said so far so good.

My video camera and Fat Gecko Dual-Suction Camera Mount by Delkin were stolen at the Detroit Auto Show and the first thing I replaced was the Fat Gecko Dual-Suction Camera Mount by Delkin.
It is the most useful tool to shoot video for cars and other action-packed events. It replaces a large tripod also.

Held on like a champ, even with some off-road shots. A bit shaky due to the fact that it doesn't have a third leg for stability, but can't beat this for the price!

I've used this to hang my Canon 1000D off a moving car so far and I've found it gets a fantastic grip on the body work and the camera remains reasonably steady while moving.

Gecko dual suction mount is good and serves the purpose for which I purchased. I am a first time purchaser from B&H, what impressed me was the delivery schedule mentioned and it did come on time. The surprising part is the delivery is to India. Unbelievable. Now I know where to buy. Yes I would recommend this to my friends. I am sure they would have started visiting BHPhotovideo website by now.

Comments about Delkin Devices Fat Gecko Dual-Suction Camera Mount:
Works very well with small cameras. I tried it with a t2i and it was pretty stable. I had a large lens on the camera so there was some shaking but it is very slight. Definitely stick to a smaller lens and if possible tie down the mount to help it from shaking. Overall a great value especially if you're using it for stills.

My main use of the Fat Gecko, is to mount my iPad for long trips. However, I do plan on using the Fat Gecko, to mount my D700 w/ 24-70 AFS lens. I've played around with that setup a little bit, and it seems very secure. There is some play in the arm, so it may not work as well for video as the Manfrotto version. A company I work with uses the Manfrotto version for video and has had much success.

Comments about Delkin Devices Fat Gecko Dual-Suction Camera Mount:
Just got my Fat Gecko Car Mount today. I placed the mount on the right outside post of my Corvette Coupe. I then secured a plastic coated cable to tether the mount to a bolt on the car. My car club traveled to a car show over highway speeds to say the least. The video I shot on a Canon Power Shot was smooth and stable. The mount did not budge for the 100 mile trip, at high speed. The tether was a safety precaution, however this mount is amazing. When I removed it, there wasn't even a ring from the suction cups. I highly recommend this mount!

I was really nervous to put my 60d on this thing.
But it held it up with absolutely no problem.
Then I tried it with my Tokina 28-70, and it still had no problems at all.
It can get shaky at times. That depends on your angle, how far out the arm is reaching and how heavy your camera is.
Rubber bands help. [;
The build quality is super DOPE.
Almost everything is made out of metal. Except the suction cup cover thingies.
LOVE THIS THING. I've been getting some awesome shots for music videos.

Works well, holds cameras less than 8lbs nicely (though the box says holds up to 8lbs while the instructions say this rig is rated for 6lbs).
Holds camera firm, but there is vigration with the rig while ridding. Need to tie pillows or towels to the rig in order to absorb vibration.
