I have been looking for a roller bag that would hold my backpack plus extras. This one pulls with ease and rolls smooth. I removed the backpack insert and will carry my own backpack inside for traveling. This works well for me so I don't have to find room for the backpack in my luggage. I haven't actually gotten to use it on a trip yet but I know it is THE ticket. I was using the Pelican 179 until I purchased a larger backpack and it wouldn't hold it. I am excited about the locking cable on it. The tripod mount is in the front middle and not on the side where it is in the way when you roll it down the airlplane aisle. Also, your lap top slides into a pouch on the exterior and is very easy to remove for security. I didn't like having a laptop case that unzips from the bag like before, it made the bag too bulky and tipsy.

I love Lowepro bags. I have several different models and sizes but I was in need of a roller bag to carry more equipmewnt without hurting my back. I first considered getting a rolling bag designed for women to look more chic but decided practicality and reliability was more important.
It is a very clever design and can hold a lot of photo equipment in its main compartment. However, I found that the additional zippered pockets are not as generous. There is very little room for anything else I was able to squeeze in a file folder, and foldable reflector but in no way could have gotten a laptop in there too. Maybe an ipad or netbook would fit but definitely not a laptop. Also, I wish the "kick stand" on the back was sturdier, when it is filled with equipment it is pretty unstable. I love having a lock on it and the option to unzip to a backpack if the carry on capacity is too large is nice. So all in all, good design but not perfect.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x200 Case:
This is the best bag you will ever own.
I am an international wedding photographer and need a bag that looks discrete, can take a beating, and is flexible for my needs. This bag meets all those expectations and more.
What's great about it:
- Size is IATA carry-on compliant. BUT, if you are on a small puddle jumper, you can pull out the backpack feature and check the bag shell.
- Size is perfect. I can fit all my gear in here safely and perfectly.
- Discreet black bag doesn't draw attention.
- Quiet wheels
- Pull out stand is great for on location work
- Handles are in all the right places
What is lacking
- Its hard to find something wrong with this bag. But, if LowePro was taking suggestions:
- Include a removable strap that would keep the lid open at 90 degs as needed. The lid just flops all the way open, and rests on the ground.
- Tripod kit should be an add-on (I have never used it)
Bottom line, this is the best bag for travel I have ever seen.

Now that I can fit all my toys in the Huge Case I will need to lift more weights so I can carry it. This Case holds everything! Great Case. Very Sturdy.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x200 Case:
Great build. Compartments are fully customizable (you'll probably end up leaving some of the dividers at home) and allows your gear to feel safe. I can definitely see why others recommend going to a skate shop and swapping out the wheels for something more durable.
International Travel- not really acceptable for a carry-on size. You'd have to take the inner lining out if you were desparate to carry on your gear. The dimensions just don't cut it unless you are flying Business Class.
Definitely worth considering if you have to go from place to place, pack up your gear and throw it in a car for a drive-to photo session, etc.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x200 Case:
This case allows me to take a lot of stuff with me on shoots with no ware and tear on the shoulders. I actually combined two smaller shoulder bags into one roller. It helps me keep things organized and accessible. I use this case to store and transport equipment. I will work out of this case, but often will transfer a few lenses and flash to a Boda lens bag when I need to work lighter/faster and need to be on the move. I liked this case so well; I bought a second one for my video equipment.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x200 Case:
I purchased the Lowepro Roller x200 some time ago but wanted to use it for a while before I wrote a review. Bottom line up front: it is a great bag that makes me feel my gear is sufficiently protected and makes it much easier to carry/transport my gear than using the camera bags I used to carry. And it can hold a LOT of gear--almost everything I take on an event/location shoot. A list of the equipment I have in my bag is at the end of this review.
Although some previous reviewers complained that the bag is heavy, that is an aspect that attracted me to it. I wanted something heavy enough and sturdy enough to protect my equipment. The bag is definitely heavy when I have all of my gear in it but that is why I wanted a roller bag. It's much easier to roll the bag than to carry it everywhere. Despite the weight, I have not had any problems with the wheels as did a previous reviewer. I appreciate his suggestion to use in-line skate wheels as replacement and will keep it in mind if the wheels fail on my bag.
The bag is not deep enough to hold my long lenses upright, so I keep the primary lenses I use attached to the camera bodies. That works out fine for the way that I operate. The only lens that I don't have in the bag is a 100-400mm zoom but it is not a lens I would normally use on an event shoot.
I agree with previous reviews about the stand on the back of the bag to prop it up--it's useless. Far too flimsy to hold up a bag as heavy as mine when fully loaded. I cannot see ever want to prop up a loaded bag anyway. I always lay the bag flat when I open it. Something I had not realized until writing this review, the bag has helped me keep my equipment very organized. When using multiple camera bags, I would often search through several pockets or compartments before I found what I was looking for. However, with this bag I know where everything is because it is all laid out in front of me when I open the bag.
Not only do I think the stand to prop up the bag is a joke, I think the tripod holder is also a joke. The places on the side of the bag to which a tripod is to be attached appear far too flimsy and weak to hold the tripod I use. I have a relatively heavy tripod (Slik Pro 700DX) which I believe would soon rip the attachment loops on the bag. However, because I cram so much gear in my bag I don't have room for flash handles. Therefore, I attached them to the loops intended secure a tripod. So far, they have remained attached and the loops do not appear any worse for the wear.
The popup handle used when rolling the bag feels flimsy to me but it has not cause me any problems or concerns. It just doesn't feel as sturdy as those on pieces of luggage I've used. I would not use the handle to attach a camera because I don't think it could handle the weight of my camera nor provide a steady platform. Although I haven't used it as such, it might be okay to attach a remote flash.
I cannot comment on the pull-out backpack feature. I have not had it out nor do I want to take it out because of the weight of all that I carry. Nor can I comment on traveling by air with it. I have transported the bag only in my truck and never attempted to use it as carry on luggage. I do use the TSA lock, though. While it won't prevent anyone from getting into the bag if they really want to, it very useful in keeping out people who just want to see what is in my bag.
Overall, I am very happy with the bag and none of negative things I have mentioned diminish my appreciation of it. It allows me to put almost all of my gear in one bag, protects my equipment, and takes a load off my back and shoulders by letting me roll it around instead of carrying it.
The equipment that I cram into my bag is listed below.

2 Battery grips

This Lowepro case is everything that it claims! Small size to allow for carry-on capabilities, but enough room to bring along everything that you need. The only item that doesn't fit in the case is my flash bracket. It easily fits a Canon 5D with battery grip, a 50D with battery grip, a 24-70 f2.8, a 70-200 f2.8, a 50mm fixed, two flashes, flash accessories, CF card case, batteries and chargers, a light meter, a battery pack, extra AA batteries in a case, an iPad II, all the cords and connections required for the camera as well as the iPad II, ect. What a great case! This case is a little on the expensive side, (thus my only con) but it is well worth the money...

This bag is perfect for hauling all my gear to shoots. It's very sturdy and well made, and the handle is better than the one on my suitcase! The lock is easy to use once you reset it. Really wanted to use this for a carry on for a wedding I shot in Seattle, but the small commuter planes don't allow bags this big. I had to beg them to put it where the crew keeps there luggage so I didn't have to watch it get chucked into the plane with thousands in gear at risk! Overall great bag, just not the carry on size it needed to be :o(

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x200 Case:
I used to carry 2 individual camera bags and a complete lights system within a 3rd baggage. Imagine the chaos every time I need to open a bag to find the required lens without messing everything up. On my last session everything was very cool.. First instead of carrying I was rolling, then for every scenario it took me only 1 second to find the specific equipment (8 lens and 3 speed-lights). My back was the most grateful with the acquisition of this roller.

This bag holds everything I own! I really love it so far. I have yet to use it as an airplane carry-on, but will in a month. I am hoping the size is correct! The only thing I am disappointed in thus far is that the tripod holder ripped and my tripod flops around a bit now. It rolls well on uneven ground, too. My suggestion for a future model is to have a strap that clips to the lid so that it could stand upright (like a car hood!) rather than having to lay fully back when open.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x200 Case:
I have used this bag for 2 weddings so far and it is so much better than my previous system. Almost everything fits into it....I have a lot of gear!! I have 3 concerns though. 1) Will this really fit into an over head comparment on a plane? I will find out next month. 2) The handle is a little wobbly. Not a huge deal, but I wish it was a little sturdier. 3) The kick stand feature in the back is essentially useless. My bag is so heavy, the kick stand would never hold the weight of it.
Other than that, I think it is great.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x200 Case:
I moved in to this bag from a Trekker Mini and it's exactly what I needed. Exactly what I expected when it arrived. Fits in an over head has loads of room and the craftsmanship is very good. It's made from good durable materials and has many nice features. It's very deep, my 17-40 and 24-105 I can stow upright and have no worries. I hold two long telephoto zooms, three shorter lenses, all my filters, two EX580II, cleaning equipment.... everything in one place. Perfect kit for me and I store my gear in it when I'm not working as well. I kept my smaller bags for when I do not need every thing but for travel, especially if I'm, having all my gear means I'll never say I should have brought.... my other lens, sensor cleaner, color rite... It's all here. It's all good!
