I use this on location when I have an assistant and uneven terrain that doesn't allow for a stand. This also works for shooting in a city setting when I have to shoot and run. It's a strong piece of gear and if you have an assistant to help you on occasion it helps things run more smooth. It's funny to see the looks on peoples' faces when I'm shooting in downtown. They look like they've never seen this before. I like it, bottom line.

Though it can serve its purpose, I find this item lacking in strength for what it's suppose to do. If it is intended for softboxes of the smaller type, then it should do a better job than it does. With the softbox attached, it fills flimsy and lacking in secured support, though I have not had my softbox fall off as of yet, but I haven't used it thoroughly yet. I love its intention, though I question its integrity. But I need it for what it's suppose to do for me, so I guess I will sound contracting when I now say that I would like to buy just one more. After all, I love the company itself. They are quality folks, thus far, and not penalyzing them for this particular item. Buy it for yourself.

Comments about Lastolite Ezybox HS Long Extending Handle:
Great handle, especially when used as I do with the Ezybox portable softbox (LS2420S) for Speedlite users. When studio lights are unavailable or not practical (such as when traveling), these handles will work fabuolously to hold a Speedlite with softbox (and PocketWizard) for impromptu portraits with wonderful indirect off-camera lighting. It works simply (like a monopod) and is very light weight. A HUGE improvement from on-camera flash position.

Comments about Lastolite Ezybox HS Long Extending Handle:
I use this with a 15" Lastolite hotshoe softbox, a PocketWizard Flex, and 580EX. I also use a heavy duty Manfrotto umbrella adapter on it for angle (although I'm planning to replace it with a lighter weight solution). With all this on the end of it, it does a good job. When fully extended and horizontal it has a bit of flex to it, but that's to be expected with that much weight hanging out there. The only thing I worry about is the 1/4-20 thread at the top. It's exposed and able to get damaged. I would have liked it better if it were a removable stud or spigot. That way if it got damaged, it could be replaced. Although being built-in prevents movement.I like how the grooves on each side prevent it from turning. You can hold a light horizontally without it swinging downward. This is very light weight. I was surprised when I picked it up, but it's well built.

Comments about Lastolite Ezybox HS Long Extending Handle:
I picked this up to help get my SpeedLite off my camera for better portrait lighting. This handle is remarkably lightweight - seems to weigh less than the SpeedLite itself. I used this in conjunction with various adapting gadgets to get a shoot-through umbrella in place. It fits in a carry-on bag; cushioned handles make it easy to hold; light weight keeps my assistant from complaining too much. Highly recommended - if you can find one.

Used this to take some portraits on the go. Great to use if you have someone to hold it.
If you want to hold it yourself and take photo's which I did in some cases, it becomes very heavy :-)

Comments about Lastolite Ezybox HS Long Extending Handle:
I use this with my Ezybox hotshoe and a SB900 and it is great. My assistant is the one who carries it and having 2 grips is so much better and comfortable than using a monopod. Plus it is lightweight. The only bad thing is that when it is fully extended, holding an ezybox and sb900, it feels a little weak, like it may break. I don't really think it will, it just doesn't feel very sturdy fully extended. Overall though, it is a great buy.

Comments about Lastolite Ezybox HS Long Extending Handle:
I shoot a lot of artistic portraits in fast-paced settings - weddings, sporting events and on film sets. This handle, allows me to use a SB900 and a 24x24 softbox in ways that I've only dreamed about.
If you have the luxury of a warm body that can move and aim your light, your're in luck! The speed, portability and ultimately the quality of your lighting will improve dramatically just by being able to have it where you need it... when you need it.
