As the pinnacle of the Black Widow line of gimbals, the Jobu Design BWG-Pro is loaded with high end features and an original design.
This is a gimbal-type tripod head that allows the entire weight of the camera and lens combination to be hung rather than balanced.
This gimbal is constructed of over-sized, one-piece, heat-treated and cast aluminum that is both extremely rigid and lightweight. The swing-arm is a new design and has a spring-action. Movement is smooth and it is facilitated by a ball-bearing pivot.
The BWG-Pro incorporates an elevated tilt mechanism and adjustable platform to make the camera/lens' center of gravity and tilt axis of the head be perfectly aligned. The horizontal swinging arm design is especially useful for large telephoto lenses, like a 400mm f/2.8, 500mm f/4, or 600mm f/4 lens. By re-orienting the mounting clamp to a horizontal position (rather than vertical sidemount), it allows for a much easier way of installing the lens, and one removes all the shear stress from the lens-collar on telephoto lenses.

Comments about Jobu Design BWG-Pro Black Widow Gimbal Tripod Head - Pro Design:
I chose this model because I have both a 70-200 zoom and a 400 mm prime lens, and there are relatively few choices that can support that weight. If you don't need this capacity, I recommend something lighter just from the portability aspect. But it's a fact of life that big, high-quality gear is going to get heavy, so I'm not complaining. By all means, this is a great piece of equipment. One thing that I am still struggling with is the weak link of attaching it to the tripod. Everything is so well built and solid, but it all relies on just one little screw holding everything together. One needs to be constantly aware of tightening and retightening the connections.

Comments about Jobu Design BWG-Pro Black Widow Gimbal Tripod Head - Pro Design:
I've been using the Jobu BWG-PRO for almost two years for land based surf photography. Mounted on a Nature Scapes Safety Plate equipped Gitzo GT5541LS tripod and supporting a Sigma 300-800mm f5.6 zoom and various Nikon bodies. I use the gimbal mounted on the right side of the lens to access the zoom function with my left hand with the horizontal plate at varying heights.
The large rubberized knobs are easy to use especially to dial in the delicate amount of drag that I use to facilitate smooth panning. Once the drag is set knob location is of no consequence to me. They work like day one with no issues.
At first I distrusted the knurled lens clamp knob which seemed small for the job of holding such a heavy lens and body during over the shoulder transporting. The combination Jobu clamp and lens plate provide more than enough strength and confidence for the job. On the subject of confidence the Pro's lock out switch obviously the idea of someone familiar with quick relocations and a truly outstanding feature.
The heart of this gimbal is the robustness of its components. Once in hand you can't mistake this gimbal for any other gimbal on the market. The shear size of the bearings, arm and horizontal plate castings, and large mounting surface deliver stability. Quality in the feel and function of all its moving parts quickly dispel any remorse over its purchase. IMO all this adds up to value.
