The Sea & Sea MDX-D700 housing is designed for professional underwater photographers. The aluminum material used in this MDX housing makes the body lightweight and strong. The MDX-D700 allows for full use of the Nikon D700 functions underwater. The snug design keeps the housing compact, enabling greater maneuverability and ease underwater.
The controls are easily accessed and are responsive. The housing has many features that will nurture your creativity. The pickup viewfinder magnifies your view by 0.66x for clear corner-to-corner framing. There are two Nikonos connectors. You can use the optional TTL converter for TTL flash control with the wired TTL 5-pin connector. The second connector has 2-pins wired for manual strobe control.
You can also fire your slave strobes with the cameras built-in flash. For this you have dual fiber-optic cable ports built into the housing. Simply by connecting a fiber-optic cable (L-type) to the socket, the light of the digital camera's built-in flash is detected and connected to an external strobe. This is considerably simpler than using a sync cord, and eliminates 4 possible failure points. A wide array of NX ports will accommodate the extensive array of Nikon interchangeable lenses in the housing.
