This thing looks well made, operates silently, and stays put. The desk clamp, which was the main thing I was concerned about, seems very stable if you really crank it down (use something to protect your desk though - I'm using a small piece of cardboard).

Haven't used it for very long though.

Bought three booms over the course of a year. Had two of these fall apart after several months of use in a broadcast radio studio. These may be fine for the average consumer but when used for a commercial broadcast studio they do not hold up. There are better made booms by other manufacturers on the market for about the same money. Now I am
waiting for the third boom to fall apart.

This Is An Outstanding Product.
Mounts Easy To Both Desk And Mic.
Used For Voice Over And Pod Casting Work
Plastic Covers Do Not Snap On Correctly,
But A Little Velcro Keeps All In Place.
No Drooping Even With Heavy Mics.

I host a podcast for a website I run, and in the past have used a floor-standing mic stand with a boom. It was pretty cumbersome to be setting up all the time and took up a lot of space on the floor.

I finally bit the bullet and picked up the PL2T, which is awesome. The mount clamps on the back of my desk, the boom goes in, and off I go! It's really easy to position, my pop filter attaches with no problems, and it takes up almost no space when not in use. I have nothing bad to say about this product.

perfectly balanced! i podcast and this is by far the best piece of hardware i've added to my mini studio. bought a shock mount for condenser mic and realized i almost didn't need it. adjusting the arm is quiet and does not create any noise. which means you can move around with a live mic and not worry about any annoying squeaking or popping. recommend this to any novice looking for a good cheap boom arm. i'm sure there are better studio arms out there, but this suits me just fine!

I use the mount in my studio where we record a live streamed video podcast. It can be seen weekly on [@]The mount is professional looking. Stays in the place you put it with having to grind down on a gear like on other types of mounts.The only thing I say is wrong with it is I can't run the end connector of and xlr cable through the bottom of the mount. The cable lays nicely to the side and that works just fine.

I have 4 and they work great. Very quiet and easy to manipulate. I was using a standard 30 dollar mic stand. Trust me, if you record vocals or do a podcast, this is a must have item. The c-clamp mount that comes with it may not work for everyone. There is other mounting hardware for the stand sold separately by heil sound.

Although the price may seem a little high, I found this to be the best type stand for my podcasting and live video stream studio.

The springs and other moving parts are very quiet and it really stays where you need it. I did need to loosen the screws at each join to loosen my stand up a little as it was stiff but that was a very easy fix.
