High Quality Projection

• Designed to meet and exceed the demands of a High Definition image at its full 1080 line resolution, Sony's SXRD 1920 x 1080p panels delivers full HD resolution, smooth film-like image with minimal screen door effects, high response times (2.5ms rise and fall), high contrast ratios and accurate color rendition.

• Equipped with 200W UHP (Ultra-High-Pressure) lamp, the VPL-HW10 projects at a high brightness of 1000 lumens. The high-wattage lamp reproduces color accurately, beautifully, and naturally bottomless white, spectacular reds etc.

• Sony's BRAVIA Engine2 is a fully digital integrated picture enhancement engine, optimally engineered for the VPL-HW10. It relies on a collection of unique algorithms such as noise reduction, and color enhancement to produce sharp, vibrant, life-like images.

• The VPL-HW10 can display x.v.Color for an unprecedented range of rich colors. Extending beyond the sRGB color space, the "xvYCC" standard was developed to capture a wider range of colors that exist in the real world. It is approximately 1.8 times wider than the color space defined by sRGB.

• Equipped with "Advanced Iris 2", the VPL-HW10 achieves remarkably high contrast of 30,000:1. Advanced Iris 2 is an automatic "Iris" shutter, a technology that automatically detects and adjusts the picture brightness and contrast to reproduce the brightness of the input signal.

• The richness of color gradation is determined by how many bits of information the source contains. The VPL-HW10 is capable of receiving Deep Color(4:2:2) signals from devices such as PS3, allowing for a smoother, finer reproduction of shades and tones.

High Performance Projection

• The VPL-HW10 is equipped with a short focal-length lens with 1.6x zoom. With this short focal lens, users can fill an entire 80-inch screen from just 8' away. Users can project large-sized images even onto limited space. Better still, the 1.6x zoom gives the projector much wider flexibility for installation.

• An ARC-F (All Range Crisp Focus) Lens, the 1.6x zoom lens has extremely high resolution and sharp focus, specially engineered to optimize the high performance of the SXRD panel. Even when using corner of lens by adjustable lens shift function, the lens can project image with exact resolution.

• Adjustable lens shift function allows picture position (both horizontal and vertical) to be easily adjusted, expanding the projector's placement and installation options without distorting image quality.

• Movies shot with a film camera have 24 frames per second. Incorporating 24p True Cinema, the VPL-HW10 displays all 24 progressive images in the same sequence as the original film source. In combination with next-generation video devices like Blu-ray Disc, the same film-like motion normally seen only in a theatre is now available in the comfort of your living room.

• RCP (Real Color Processing) function allows users to adjust color and hue of each target color of the projected picture independently. With this capability, users can tweak the images to perfection.

• The VPL-HW10 is configured with a function that compensates gaps in character or color management. It is possible to select R(Red) or B(Blue) to make adjustments based on G(Green), and to adjust the horizontal and vertical direction by shifting full image of each color.

Inputs/Outputs

• The VPL-HW10 is equipped with component, composite and S-Video input, and D-sub 15pin for PCs. An RS-232C terminal allows user to remotely control the projector via a computer.

• Two HDMI digital input connectors, each capable of accepting a 1080p digital signal, enables connection to 1080p output equipment such as Blu-ray Disc player.

Conveniences

• BRAVIA Theatre Sync simplifies and enhances the home theatre experience. Through the control capabilities of HDMI interface, the devices sync with one another for intuitive operations such as One Touch Play and System Stand-by. The VPL-HW10 has two different applications as BRAVIA Theatre Sync:
- One Touch Play -Insert a disc and press Play, the system turns on and the movie starts.
- System Stand-by -Press the Power/Standby button on the projector remote, all connected A/V products shutdown at once.

• The VPL-HW10 runs very quietly with an advanced air discharge system. Via a highly efficient cooling system, fan noise is suppressed to a mere 22dB at lamp mode. With whisper-quiet fan noise, users can concentrate on a movie or game in a quiet environment without distraction.

• "Noise Reduction" functions let you reduce the roughness, or noise of the picture. In addition to traditional NR function, Mosquito Noise Reduction and Block Noise Reduction functions are also available.

• The VPL-HW10 is simple and functional, yet a stylishly designed and sophisticated projector. The dark color of the exterior coordinates well in a home theater environment.

• Includes a remote commander with back-light buttons, easy-grip, and larger buttons for easier control.
