The 500GB LaCinema Black RECORD High Definition Media Player from LaCie is a network media player and recorder with a roomy 500GB internal storage drive. Boasting an impressive industrial design by Neil Poulton, the device is capable of recording video from analog SD sources and for playing back your digital videos, pictures, and music on your HDTV.
S-Video and RCA composite video input jacks are present, allowing you to record video from an analog camcorder, cable box, or other device that can output analog video. It features standard HD home theater outputs -- both RCA component and HDMI -- to connect to a TV. Install the device as a pass-through DVR between your cable box and TV and you'll be able to record television programming, avoiding extra fees charged by cable companies for DVR service.
You can also connect the player to your home network via 802.11n Wi-Fi Ethernet, facilitating network media playback from UPnP AV media servers. Two USB ports are present for storage expansion. The player will even upscale standard definition video to 1080i for enhanced video quality when displayed on an HDTV.
