I am using mostly to convert 80's pictures to digital. Scanning is relatively fast, maybe 10 seconds a picture, probably less. I have scanned negatives, pictures and slides. The Adobe photo software works flawlessly. The pictures are not as sharp as the pictures I take with my Nikon D5000, I did not expect them to be that sharp. But you will enjoy seeing some pics that have been sitting in a shoe box for 30 years.

This scanner has potential but after scanning a dozen slides a "capture error - restart computer" displayed -- again and again. After an hour of trying to fix this error, I've given up. This is going back and I'm sticking with known brands that have proper driver support. Spend the extra few bucks and buy one that works!

I am scanning my slide collection on to my computer. Also some old photos that I have. Using the Image Box Digital Scanner to do this is truly a one touch operation. The setup could not have been any easier. The directions were clear & easy to follow. I would heartily recommend this producy to any hobbyist.
I just wish that a second slide holder was included, as that would speed up the scanning process.

I knew the pixals would be less than ideal, but I couldn't afford the top of the line.
Slide carrier seems a little sketchy, but hasn't broken yet.

My 15 year old daughter is the one who uses the scanner. She is scanning old prints to make a video montage. It worked well. Some of the older pictures didn't come out crisp, but they definitely beat having to scan them individually on my printer and resize on the pc. Quick and easy to use.

I've scanned slides and prints so far, no negatives scanned yet. So far it's a great product. I love the fact that I can digitize these old family photos and keep them forever with no worries.

Comments about Pacific Image ImageBox Film/Slide/Photo To Digital Scanner:
[...]The ImageBox is very easy to use, with only a single USB cable to plug into the PC. It gets all the power it needs from the USB port. All I have scanned so far are slides. The slides scan very well, but it does take a bit of time quite similar to a flat table scanner though. All in all, I am quite pleased with the ImageBox for the cost.

Comments about Pacific Image ImageBox Film/Slide/Photo To Digital Scanner:
Item was very easy to install and I began using it within 10 minutes of taking it out of the box. Captures images very well for only costing [$]. Some of the darker slides did not come out so well, so, those are the only ones I am not able to get a decent digital copy from. Otherwise, it is excellent! I have mostly used it for slides so far but, I have scanned some negatives as well and they seem to come out even better.

I wanted to convert old photos (b&w, slides, pre-digital 4x6) to manage family history and create new digital photo books. This scanner was out of the box, easy to install software, easy to use. I am really happy with the pictures scanned! Haven't gotten to the slides, but just for pictures it is great! Ordering through B&H Photo online was a delight - no hassles! 3 friends are now interested in buying this device!

[...] Read the instructions and everything seemed pretty straight forward, started to load the software and had problems with the disk, it would not load on either a windows xp system or a windows vista system. That was the bad news, but spoke with the tech support person and she was extremely helpful. She walked me thru the download of an updated software package. I have installed on both computers and scanned photos , slides and negatives without any problems. Have worked mostly with slides on the xp machine, have done over 1200 images without missing a beat!!!!

Wanted to use this scanner for exactly what it says it will do. I have tried unsuccessfully to use and install three times over the past year. It never has worked. The computer cannot find the scanner. I had XP when I first bought it and now I have Windows 7, it won't connect. It is being junked as we speak!

My husband is able to use this product so easily. The set up was simple and the options for pictures, slides and negatives makes it something that we will use often.
Having only 4 slides at a time in the scanner makes scanning YEARS of slides fairly tedious.

A bit time consuming, but all models in this range are.

I have boxes upon boxes of old photos that never see the light of day, but I miss looking at them. This unit is perfect for bringing the photos into digital format. What I have converted so far has been very easy and I am enjoying them on a photo slide show.

Comments about Pacific Image ImageBox Film/Slide/Photo To Digital Scanner:
I have about 8000 slides and boxes of photos to scan, and wasn't getting far with my old slide scanner(AFL1800). This scanner is much faster and does a better job than my old one. It is fairly easy to use, and setup on a laptop running windows 7 was easy.I scan directly to a tif file so haven't used Adobe Photoshop much. I believe Photoshop will do everything I want and then some. I scan every box of slides to it's own directory and found that I must close the scanning program and restart it to change directories. I don't consider this a big problem though.I view my scans on a 47" TV and find the pictures to look as good as the slides. I don't think you can find a scanner that will do a better without costing several times the price of this unit.

Very poor scanning of film. I compared with original prints and found resolution very poor.
I am most disappointed with this piece of equipment. It has been reboxed and unlikely to be opened again.
