I almost didn't buy this Octa Softbox because of the negative product reviews it has received but I'm glad I bought it. It is well worth the price. I found the fabric to be solidly stitched and reinforced. The steel rods ARE stiff which may make mounting the speedring, for some, a bit awkward and timely at first. But once mastered, setting up and taking apart this softbox is a breeze.
I use it with a Quantum T5d-R on a stand and the light quality is diffused and even. It is heavy, solid and bulky as it should be for a three foot diameter softbox--a point to consider on outdoor shoots.

Great light modifier for portraiture. Well constructed and easy to set up. Storage bag could be bigger.

Super easy to assemble, and I already used it for a newborn session and it was amazing! Love it!
Only complaint: really heavy

I use this product mostly for head-portraits both in- and outdoor. I use it with profoto heads and it is a much cheaper choice than profoto softboxes. I guess the quality of C.L is less superior compared to Profoto softboxes, but the price difference make it up. What they dont tell you is that Profoto and C.L have the same headoffice in Sweden. I guess there will always be a small quality difference, but this is my fourth softbox from C.L and they work really well!

I have zero complaints about the quality of this softbox. I use it with the C L speedring for flash and my T5DR. Outstanding light quality. A little bit of a wrestle to assemble but otherwise, I am happy with my purchase.

With all the negative reviews I hesitated to buy this bank. But did decide to try it and quite frankly am wondering what all the negativity was about. In short this is a great small portable bank that sets up quite easy.

had to return it, the product was of bad quality, material too light, seamed cheap... and broke on the first use... so returned it... would not recommend it...

Great! Buy one. For a mere fraction of the cost of the competitors, you can definitely afford it. A small section of my softbox had a hole in it, but it might just have been my individual item. Aside from that, it is definitely worth it. Buy one a softbox and spend $3 on a needle and thread.
