A professional size 4-section aluminum model, the Benro MA-96EX Monopod can officially support gear of up to 44 lbs (20kg) and is recommended for even the largest SLR cameras with telephoto lenses that sporting pros make a living with, such as a 600mm f/4 or 400mm f/2.8. It has a foam-padded grip with a built-in wrist strap.
The MA-96EX's flip-lever leg locks are of the newest technology, and provide reliable and fast use with just a small motion necessary. Benro also has developed an aluminum tubing which is quite thin yet still strong, and this shaves about 30% off of the weight of a comparable older-technology model. The camera screw is reversible for both 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 applications.

Comments about Benro MA-96EX Aluminum Monopod:
Very sturdy, good locks, I would buy this again. It is a bit heavy but that is what is required for the sturdy feel. Besides, it will be on the ground so it isn't like you have to hold it up while you shoot.

Comments about Benro MA-96EX Aluminum Monopod:
I am using to replace existing monopole that was not sturdy when using a heavier DSLR Canon 7D + Canon EF 70-200 IS F-2.8 telephoto/zoom lens

Comments about Benro MA-96EX Aluminum Monopod:
I bought this as an amateur; not realizing that it required a head that was 2-3X more than I paid for the monopod. My Bad! Very buff and I would puchase it if I were a serious photographer. [...] puchased the Slik Lighty Pod III.

Comments about Benro MA-96EX Aluminum Monopod:
Really like how it feels in hand and how quickly it opens and locks. This will handle more weight than I will ever use and not that I would recommend this but so sturdy I almost want to use it as a walking stick instead of carring it. Also have Benro tripod that came with Ball head and it fits Monopod. Added value!!

When I bought a 100-400mm lens I needed some support. This monopd is top quality, easy and secure to use. I can walk all over with the camera on it, use it on bannisters or extend it to the ground is fast easy motions. Love it
