I recently updated my Canon 20D to a 7D. With the raw file size now more the 2X larger, I started to investigate larger capacity memory. The 7D supports CompactFlash with UDMA6 performance, so I was also interested faster memory.
After purchasing this memory, I ran my own tests. My original memory card was a SanDisk 4GB rated at 15MB/s. With the older card and the 7D I am able to capture 17 shots (using RAW only) before the buffer is full and the capture slows dramatically. It took approximately 26 seconds for the buffer to empty with no more pictures taken (based upon the red write light on the camera). I replaced the memory with the new 60MB/s SanDisk 32GB card. The buffer was still full after 17 raw shots. But, the huge difference was that the buffer was cleared after only 6 seconds.
Bottom line - is this card expensive? - Yes
Is this card worth it? - to me, yes
If you do high speed bursts frequently, this card is a big improvement. If you take single shots only, you will not notice any difference. Unless you get a high speed reader, then you will absolutely see the performance increase.

it work really well and I know CF is the professional media storage but the reason I gave it 3 stars is because its big and bulky and sd is catching up in speed with a lot less dammage to your bank. I bought a cf fd adapter and it works just as well as this card for me I haven't tried video and I barely find reason to use the burst speen in my camera. I will keep it incase I do find a photo situation where this card is better than my adapter with an sd card.

Comments about SanDisk 32GB CompactFlash Memory Card Extreme UDMA:
Used couple of these cards for past year mainly shooting HDSLR video without a single glitch or failure. Write/read speeds are excellent. 45mb/s sustained writes, 58-72mb/s sustained reads. Burst reads (off-loading images) it gets around 95mb/s (through USB 3.0 port/reader). This card is excellent performer, just bought two more of these.

Sandisk is always the way to go. Never have any issues with this brand. Don't go with cheaper brands, they don't always work.

I bought two of these cards to use in my XF105, and plan to buy more. They are high-capacity, fast, and reliable. They formatted in a blink and have performed without fault since I bought them in November last year. Good product.

This cards I received as a gift are excellent quality. I use them with the Tascam HS-P82 recording 8 mono tracks and 1 stereo simultaneously, and never had a problem. With these 32 GB, I can record all those tracks at 48k and 16B for a little more than 6 hours straight.

I use SanDisk CF line of cards, and have professionally since 2003. I've never had one fail on me yet, despite using them in extreme weather conditions - both in Canadian winters and in the deserts of the USA southwest in the summer.

Being out the field alot , I try and travel light, but also want a reliable CF card. I trust SanDisk and I have not yet had one fail on me. 32GB is a good sized card to take with me on shoots. My CF cards go through cold and brutal weather and keep going.
