Comments about Lowepro Magnum 400 AW Shoulder Bag:
I am an amateur photographer and needed a bag to serve as primary storage for my gear. This bag is big, but I didn't get it for its portability. The bag is what you would expect from Lowepro -- well made, thoughtful design. I keep a 7d body, three lenses, 2 speedlites, a gorilla tripod, flash cables, remotes, etc. and still have room for growth. I use a smaller sling and backpack when I need just a subset of my gear for a particular trip. The formed bottom is a great feature for added protection, and the luggage sleeve allows you to quickly attach it to rollaway luggage.

Comments about Lowepro Magnum 400 AW Shoulder Bag:
I purchased the Magnum 400 after finding my ever faithful Micro Trekker 200 was unable to sustain the extra photographic gear I was accumilating eg flash units, extra lenses etc. After laying all my gear on the table I was swamped. I researched my future needs (purchasing a second DSLR body) and other products on the market did not meet my erquirements, I then quickly came to the realisation the Magnum 400 was the one.Living in Brisbane Australia, I placed an order with B & H [...] Can't do much better than that.Upon receipt I was amazed at the vast number of options available for the storage of my equipment - a bit daunting really. After working out the best configuration I now have packed neatly away and readily accessible: 2 speedlights, 5 spare lenses, batteries galore, charger, filters, various bits and pieces, 2 camera bodies (one with 70-200 fitted) and there remains room within the well padded bag. The outside front compartment easliy houses my notebook.I use the Magnum 400 daily and it is a pleasure to use. With the amount of gear I am carrying, the quality of the padded shoulder strap is second to none - it it so comfortable and construction spreads the weight very well.

Comments about Lowepro Magnum 400 AW Shoulder Bag:
First off I returned this bag. But it wasn't because there was anyhting wrong with the bag. It was just too big for what I needed. The quality is top notch and the protection it offers your gear is perfect. It's a great bag for a ton of gear.
Comments about Lowepro Magnum 400 AW Shoulder Bag:
Bought this bag to hold 2 5d Mark II with 24-70 and 70-200 attached + accessories.
Pros:
- Strong build
- Stackable
- 2 bodies + lenses with extra space
- 3 ways to carry
Cons:
- Needs 1 to 2 inches to every side to fit what I need
- Can't really use inside pockets for harder stuff because of the tight space with 70-200 + body
Home to location to home type of bag. I wouldn't recommend as a carry-on or trekking bag.
These camera fit good, but I wouldn't put anything over the 70-200+body (even in the pouches inside the cover) as its tight enough and I'd worry to scratch LCD screen. I don't like the fact you can't adjust the camera support to the height you want on one side (cheaper support as well) as it gives you less options.
I wouldn't agree with LowePro that you can also fit 6 to 9 lenses with 2 bodies+lense already in the bag. A 85 f1.2 don't fit standing, it need to lie sideway (lens caps facing back-front instead of up and down) so I need one space for lens and one for the lens hood.

Comments about Lowepro Magnum 400 AW Shoulder Bag:
I returned this shortly after taking it out of the box, but only to order its larger sibling the 650. (My 650 review mostly applies to the 400 also) The bag is well made, and can hold a 70-200 f/2.8 easily. A body with this lens attached, however, protrudes past the dividers. The depth of the bag is nice for longish lenses and flashes, but for small items you'll want some mesh bags or similar to keep organized. While I needed something larger, the 400 is still a big bag. I say this mainly because at another site many reviews ding this bag as "too big". This is not really a bag you want to stroll around taking photos with. It may make a nice bag to store all your stuff, and either take what you need in a smaller bag(s) or drop this somewhere and work out of it (back of the car, event site, etc). Construction, features, etc. are great in the Magnum series, just pick the right size for your needs.

Comments about Lowepro Magnum 400 AW Shoulder Bag:
On paper it had all the right stuff.. lg height to accomodate a nikon 70-200 f2.8 lens, two bodies and about 4 / 5 lenses. When I got the bag I was disappointed. The bag is well made but YOU CAN'T carry it as a shoulder bag. It's too Square!. I wound up returning and getting a Tenba Lg Shootout bag. Now that works ! Great bag and fills the void I had.
