Comments about Delkin Devices 64GB CompactFlash Memory Card Pro 450x UDMA:

I am an amateur photographer who takes a lot of photos of surfers, dancers, and sporting events such as horse jumping. Although this card is not as fast as the more expensive cards, I can set the camera to Continuous Advance and shoot very fast bursts, sufficient to catch the moment of action I'm looking for. In other words, it's fast enough for my needs.

I use this in my Nikon D3S for HDR and HD-SLR. The cards are reliable and high-capacity. The transfer rate is slower than the Sandisk Extreme Pro, but also less than half the price. Some photographers prefer not to have so much data on a single card, but especially when traveling, I prefer to have the large cards and back them up with a data storage unit.

Comments about Delkin Devices 64GB CompactFlash Memory Card Pro 450x UDMA:

This Delkin product failed completely after only about 10 days of use. This failure was compounded by a slow, apathetic response by Delkin, whose end result was that it took over six weeks after reporting the problem for them to finally return to me a card that (they say) works.I bought this CF card for use on a four-week trip to Europe, and tested it briefly before departure. Only about 10 days into the trip, it froze up: it would not accept the image that I had just taken on my Canon 1Ds III. This failure stopped the camera from working entirely: I had to remove the battery to unstick it, and even then the camera would refuse to work at all with the Delkin CF card installed. The problem went away when I installed an older CF card. Because of the size of the card and the fact that I needed to back up my pictures, I had to buy two 32 G cards at European retail prices just to take and back up the pictures I had planned to.When I returned home, I was able to recover most of the pictures I had taken, but about 1% of them were lost and unrecoverable. When I reported the problem to Delkin, which took several phone call attempts before I got through, they required me to fill out several forms and mail the card to them, at my expense, while they tested it and fixed it. The forms seemed designed either to weed out people trying to return non-defective product or to make it so troublesome to get service that you would give up: it made me wonder how many problems they are used to seeing. [...]with Delkin I waited weeks after sending the card back without response. When I finally phoned them in frustration, they said the repaired card would be sent immediately. When two weeks more had passed without any response, I called again. Finally, the card and some DVDs with the recovered pictures, at least that subset of them that was recovered, was received, over six weeks after the initial inquiry and 10 weeks after the failure. In the meantime, the price of a comparable speed and capacity CF card had dropped by about 30%. So they had had my money for three months without my being able to use the card much, in which time the value of the card had dropped. And I have a repaired card that Delkin asserts will work, but for which I will need duplicate cards in case they are mistaken. No technology-laden product is perfect. It is not unreasonable to expect a few failures. But if a product under rare occasions does fail, the producer should stand behind it by offering a refund immediately or by repairing the product on an accelerated schedule and offering a written guarantee that it will work. By failing to do this, Delkin showed me that either these failures are so common that they cannot afford to treat their customers properly, or else that they just don't care to.

Comments about Delkin Devices 64GB CompactFlash Memory Card Pro 450x UDMA:

I have used this product as the main card in my primary camera three times so far. I use the Canon 5DMKII and 7D to shoot primarily video. The delkin card has not dropped any frames thus far and i have only seen the buffer indicator a couple of times while shooting. These large capacity cards are great all around. A full 64GB card holds just over three hours of full 1080p video from the Canon cameras listed above.
